Re: supersonic ammo indoors

Not legal in NCAA matches and produces false readings on Mega Link targets. Most likely not as accurate as standard velocity.

Re: NCAA college air rifle score analysis

Electronic scoring brought with it shooting at a single target instead of moving around the ten bulls or changing target faces. This gave much better feedback on position and hold. The rest is all of the other improvements just adding to the rise in scores.

Best to talk to the Coach. There are Club and Varsity (NCAA) rifle teams and it makes a big difference in expectations and gear.

Re: You rifle shooters have my respect!

During the first head coaches meeting after our school brought rifle back to varsity status the Football coach said that rifle wasn't a real sport. After the meeting I invited him to the range to try out our sport. After struggling with a smallbore rifle off hand he said he was wrong and at the next...

At the current rate that I'm shooting in prone matches I'll run out about five years after I'm dead.

Re: ammo testing

I use a return to battery rest that the gun is mounted to using the accessory rail. The rest is clamped to a concrete bench and I fire ten shot test groups at fifty yards on a mega link target. If I change ammo brands I clean the bore and then fire fouling shots. Usually go through at least ten diff...

Re: Removable Scope Options For 54:30

Use the extension rail to remove the scope from the rifle and leave the scope rings mounted on the rail. Should keep the zero just fine.

Re: Megalink or Sius?

Megalink is easy to use and very robust. In eight years running sixteen points my only problems have been shot wires. Megalink Live is great and the match software works. Local displays have many options for viewing a match.
