Re: Can you use 22 shorts for shooting 50 Meter free pistol?

Besides the ruling on using.22LR, the proper twist rate for .22lr is 1-16 or 1-17”. .22 short requires a 1-20” twist. Plus the bore size is smaller for the.22 short.

Re: Is TOZ-35 free floated, does it matter ?

BEA, could not agree more. Free pistol is the most challenging and most rewarding of the pistol sports, along with Air pistol. Not to mention, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympics, was himself a 50m shooter and a French champion. Free pistol was part of the first modern Olympics...

Is TOZ-35 free floated, does it matter ?

Never thought much about it, but is the forend arrangement on the TOZ-35 free floating and I’m thinking it may or may not be, but would it have any effect one way or the other.

Re: Is Free pistol still in the world championship ?

I’m not sure if I like the mixed team format for any event, but I also love Free Pistol, so the more it gets fired, the better. I would support Women’s 50m Free Pistol though, as an additional event. Not likely to happen, I don’t think.

Is Free pistol still in the world championships ?

I haven’t kept up on all the changes in the World programs, but is FP still being shot in other non-Olympic events ?

There we go ! Shooters representing the shooting community.

Re: USA Shooting Hires Olympic Sports Executive Bob Gambardella for New Chief Operations Officer Role

I wish him and USA shooting all the best because this is MY sport and I care what happens to it. That said, it always gives me pause when someone steps into a role that they don’t actually have any participation or experience. Is this guy a shooter ? If so, I missed that. Sorry. I guess some believe...

Re: AP rear sight location question

For me the question is not so much the notch width but the focus of the rear blade altogether. My Morini 162 rear sight placement allows me to see the rear sight rather distinctly. Virtually the same as the front sight. Other guns with placement further back toward the eye, will indeed increase sigh...

Re: Toz-35 Box Fell Apart

Better check the rules and laws about rebuilding gun boxes ! There might be a 10 year limit on them.
Seriously now, I have my TOZ in a hard plastic gun case. A lot lighter to lug around.

Re: AP rear sight location question

[quote=JamesHH post_id=287167 time=1551306848 user_id=19050] Someone once suggested the rearsight should be over the wrist joint, this way if the wrist moves the foresight moves but the rearsight barely appears to move. Its one less movement to have to think about, Its easier to juggle one ball than...

AP rear sight location question

If we look at a Morini 162 and the Steyr LP10 from a side view, you can see that the rear sights are placed in very different locations. The Morini rear sight is forward of the wrist joint where as the Steyr is mounted further back almost over the wrist joint. Now assuming we are focusing on the fro...

It only contacts the heel of the hand. What’s up with that ?
