Focus and sight clarity is a difficult thing. As SS points out, you may benefit from opening up the rearsight iris. It's also possible your eyes are tiring and you're staring too hard for too long. Equally you may need a different prescription than you currently use (or don't use). Simply put your e...

The title does make me chuckle 'continue world dominance' - the guys and girls did very good in Munich, but world dominance ? I think not.

if it's not small enough: for the original lp1 & lp5 they had even smaller ones than they sell today. so maybe steyr still has some on stock... The LP1 may have had but I'm not aware of the LP5 having a different foresight width. My LP5 certainly came with the same width foresight as my LP10. R...

I bought a cheap Gehman one to start with and then later upgraded to a Kurt thune. I'd suggest you just get one off the peg to start with but you need to try it on as fit across the shoulders is very important. The front can be tweaked by moving the buttons.

Agree with what most have already said. Get one of the older models, shoot it for a while and if you like it consider upgrading the stock. I went down that route with an 1813, shot it for a couple of years before upgrading to a system gemini stock. Keeping the barrel and action saved me a fair bit, ...

I'd suggest googling to see if there are any you-tube videos of the recoil absorber - some companies upload such videos.

It's not so much practice but effective training that matters. Most successful shooters are full time shooting athletes so that will give you a pointer.

I'd suggest first step is to find a good coach.

Sort of depends where it hurts and what's causing it. I'd go along to a physio for advice - if you can, take your pistol or at least show them your stance. Other thing I'd suggest is get someone to take some pics of you shooting and post them up here.

Wrist and forearm pain like that suggest to me your arm is not straight and that the wrist joint is therefore strained. I'd suggest you post up some pictures of you in position for our resident experts to comment on.

Thanks for responses. Alan - If the sensor is moved along the axis of the barrel and remains at the same distance from the barrel center, I do not see why there would be "angular error" introduced. Dennis L I agree, angular error is identical no matter where the sensor is located. The who...

Scatt should run fine on any old laptop. I used a very old 10+ year old laptop with serial ports up until quite recently. I upgraded when it died to the cheapest Samsung I could get.

All that said I'd save your money and get a coach to look at you shooting.

I always place the sensor as near as I can to the end of the barrel. Never noticed anything obvious but I wonder if your getting reflections pushing up the trace lengths ?

You will typically find pistol are lighter than rifle, but many pistol shooters use the heavier ones. In your case I'd just get what works ok and works out cheapest. I buy sleeves of geco, hobby, or whatever I can for our club shooters at a cheap price. Shooters that progress buy the better R10's or...

As stated above, filters can only remove light, so you end up with a dimmer image. In all my research and experience in photography, I have only ever found justification for two colors: pale yellow (amber), and pale pink (vermillion).<snip> The other thing to consider is personal preference. I do n...

It is impressive how much light you need to clearly see the target through peep sights. And how many shooters stick to the 1.1mm recommended iris size in poorly lit indoor ranges... K. Interestingly, I find that I only need to open up the rearsight in certain outdoor light conditions - shooting sli...

The LP2 is a different gun, the LP1 was the predecessor. They are good guns, just don't have as much of the technology of the LP10. My wife has one which I sometimes shoot - and I can't really notice any great difference between it and my LP10.

20 years ago when I was shooting lots of prone matches I picked up a front sight base with 2 steps on it. One for 50 and one for 100. No sight adjustment was required. I have no idea where I purchased it but it was great. In the UK there's a guy who makes a turnover foresight, that does exactly the...
