John,
Do you know what the series is called - I can't see it listed. Also is it available via broadband to those of us without the outdoor channel ?

Thanks,

Rob.

I don't know the pump but it sounds as though it's faulty. Let them repair/replace it would be my suggestion.

Re: dyrfiring lp5

'Gust' Thanks for the patronising reply. The LP5 only releases air with the magazine in so from your previous post it was fair to assume you had the magazine in. I too have one so I am familar with the workings of the gun. I will have to take your word that the advancing mechanism 'will wear abnorma...

With the steyr LP5 you just don't put the magazine in. Without the magazine, no air is released.

Bob, I am pretty fortunate to shoot on electronic targets quite often since I live quite close to Bisley in the UK. What I would say is that it makes absolutely no difference to your scores whether you shoot paper or electronic. I did think it enabled you to shoot quicker, which I guess it does in t...

My pellets seem to oxidise quite quickly and I just carry on using them. Not sure if you can easily clean them and if you did if the solvent residue wouldn't be worse than a bit of lead oxide.

To me those velocities sound wrong - I'm sure they should be consistent no matter how much air is in the cylinder. I would check with Morini or their service agents that the guns or seals aren't faulty.

If a new gun malfunctions straight from the box then return it to the supplier straight away. How can you expect to complete a 60 shot competition with the thing liable to miss fire for example ? I guess it's same with everything, there will be the odd technical problem but it's under warranty and a...

I use the morini grip compound and find it very good. It is a rip off of another brand but since I can't see myself using too much of it I'll bear the extra cost. If you find it does drop off then roughen or scratch the wood surface to help it stick. I most certainly wouldn't want to bake my grips i...

Most people use the Steyr LP5 or the new LP50 (in the UK) - I use the LP5.

Raub,
I have the UK (longarm) version of this FP and it seems very nice. I haven't shot it enough to get a proper feel for it yet and neither have I had it long enough to find any quirks - but so far <touches wood> the gun is great.

Dougal,
Both of us have already seen the letter on UK forum, forum.stirton.com as well, hence our comments. That said I don't mind where the letter gets posted but if the situation were reversed, I would have no interest in someone in 'USA shootings' resignation.

I would have to agree with David. I am a British shooter and a member of the NSRA and I don't really understand what it means to me so I can't see how it's relevant to the US scene.

Another possibility is to change the time of day when you take the drug (assuming it's OK to do so). I would not advocate changing medication a couple of days before a comp - you are still not meant to be taking banned substances anyway and can be tested in training etc. But more importantly your bo...

Your best bet is to either talk to your GP (physician) or look up the side affect data on something like the FDA website (http://www.fda.gov/cder/ There should be something like a patient leaflet or such that will give you more details.

HTH,

Rob.
