I think the IWLA in Centreville, VA has a prone league during the summer.[/quote]

You are correct. Its the first Wed. of each month, April - November. They start at 5pm. Here's the program.

Hope to see you there!

Anyone going to Ft. Benning for the upcoming match

Just checking to see if anyone else was going to Ft. Benning the week after next for the 50m prone match. Just curious if anyone might want to split a hotel room/rental car for those few days yo keep costs down. If so, lemme know.

Yup, you're a tad low. Bring in your handstop and shorten your sling and then leave well enough alone! You're too close to such an important match to start mucking around with your position and you're obviously doing a lot of things well -- don't introduce doubt at this stage. Go for the experience...

Attention! Anyone Flying with a Firearm

I wanted to share something I just ran across. I have been spending the last few night making sure I have all of my ducks in a row for flying with my rifle. Everything I could find by using the search function left me not knowing whether to buy the TSA locks or not due to the rule stating that you a...

Thanks again for all the replies everyone. I tried to incorporate some of these changes into my dryfiring tonight, and will be going to the range tomorrow to see how they work out. I'll post updates as to any improvements and maybe try to convince the wife to take a new set of pictures. thanks

Marc, thanks for the reply. The match is the upcoming "champion of champions" match in Ft. Benning in September. With your response, I will plan on an additional 100 rounds for that day to be safe, and then find something to do with the rest of the day. From information I've found from pre...

Please help me critique my prone position*PICS(56k BEWARE)*

Hello All, I was hoping to find some of you out there with a good eye for positions that would not mind taking a few minutes to lookover my position. I have attached photos of as many viewpoints as I can think of. Please give me any questions, comments or suggestions you might have. Overall, it feel...

Questions about upcoming match

Hello all, I am preparing for my first truly large scale 50m prone match and I'm hoping to get some insight about what I will encounter. I am trying to put together a plan for the entire match from a few days before to the end. I will be flying down the day before the official training day. I assume...

Looking for Army Personel at Ft. Benning Sept. 20

Hey all, I thought I would take a shot in the dark here, and see if there were any Army personel on this site that would be at Fort Benning on September 20th. The reason I ask is that I am coming down for the Smallbore prone match that week, and for cost reasons, would like to be able to stay at the...

gidaeon, You are already on the right track, as learning how to shoot well with your rimfire rifles can give you a multitude of opportunities when it comes to competitions, and can also carry over to centerfires aswell. I was in a similar position just a few short months ago. I am 25 and just starte...

Any Adult Smallbore/AR Teams in Northern VA?

Hey Everyone, I am checking in to see if there might be any adult smallbore or precision air rifle teams/groups/clubs active in Northern Virginia or somewhere nearby. I am 25 and only started shooting at the local Izaak Walton in April and continue to shoot AR there twice a week. I can't begin to te...
