backups

I usually have a backup AP with me, anyway. Not necessarily as a backup, though. Once in a while, someone brings their friend, wife, or kid, to see what we're up to. My "backup" becomes a fine loan-er, and, maybe, we end up eventually with a new, and regular, shooter on the line.

Larry's service is excellent, even if he doesn't seem to update his site much more than annually. .

dry firing k58

Bear's advice is excellent. The dry fire lever shown in the manual is for the K2s. I got my boy a K58 from Nygord's in Feb., 2003, and it had the "new" dry fire feature. I'd bet nematode's gun has it, too.

SAM

The K15, and K50 free pistol, were carried by Nygord's, making availability in the US, well, problamatic, even if we assume that they are still in business, which I hope they are. (I used a SAMK50 FP, happily, in my local club's monthly match, yesterday. Of course, I also had a Unique in my box for ...

Whatever happened to that "no flaming manufacturers&quo

just to make sure this clear. the Morini firm in Bedano Switzerland that makes the 84E FP and the 1621 AP had nothing to do with the FP10. Cesare Morini, whose name graces the Bedano's firm above two mentioned famous, fucntional guns, ironically had nothing to do with either of them. Unfornately he...

Pardini K2S

I have a weakness for AP's, and think that they are the heighth of the gunmaker's art. I own the LP10, AP40, K2S, and, for that matter, SAM K11 & K15, too. I recently traded away my Morini to a pal who needed an AP. The LP10 is a beautiful pistol, and its quality cannot be denied. The AP40 is al...

K22 dry fire

The K22 can be dry-fired. Open the action to make sure it is unloaded. Set the trigger. With the action maybe 4/5ths closed, pull the trigger. The breechblock will move forward. Close it. Without opening the action, set the trigger. Dry fire. It's the same process, basically, as is used to dry-fire ...

MG2

I also bought one from Don Nygord, whom I'll miss. I had no problems with the magazines, but did have a little problem getting the trigger properly adjusted. Don was a master at giving advice over the phone, and the problem was resolved. Obviously, you'll need to trust your dealer. I got the mount f...

H&R, etc

Guest, Could you be thinking of the H&R single-shot pistols which, while they looked like revolvers, were the free pistols of choice for early US Olympic shooters. I believe they dominated the 1904 Olympics with those pistols, if my USRA newsletter is correct. And, on a side note: Dave C does ha...

I own 2 "Texas guns." They function flawlessly, and are quite accurate. Both are Trophy models, although one is the "Olympic" variation, in 22 short.

Both guns are set up for Bullseye, with dots, although I also have a second bbl for the 22 short.

The absorber system on the P40 is, well, the most effective such system I have experienced. The feel upon firing is amazingly stable.

Does it justify shelving a P30, or other gun, that is otherwise working well? That's a matter of individual taste. But the P40 is very impressive.

I've had outstanding results with Eley Standard (light blue box) and Eley Target Pistol (Yellow box). The Standard is very reasonably priced, and shoots very well.

cheers.

trigger and function

I own an MG-2. It feels great, and shoots very well. I've had the experience of having the hammer follow the slide forward after a shot. That was corrected, in my case, by having a touch more sear engagement. cheers.
