I bought a 96U from Don Nygord, in the summer of 2000. Beautiful gun. The grip, thanks to the top loading feature, was the best feeling factory grip I've ever used on a Standard Pistol. I didn't find it any lighter, or heavier, than a 69U. Sadly, I looked in my safe one day, and thought that 3 Uniqu...

While $1200 for a Victor is pretty steep, IF the gun is a 10-X version, hand built by Shea, it would command that price. Not, by any means, to say that I'd pay that, .....But, just for completeness, thought I'd toss that in.

Pardini trigger adjustment

A while back, someone posted directly, or linked to, notes from the late Don Nygord about adjusting the SP/HP trigger. If I recall, the notes were a sort of "After you adjust the hell out of it yourself, these will get you back to basic factory specs. Could someone please re-post those, or guid...

Don Nygord told me: "You can't have too many air pistols." And, he was right! I've come to believe that they are the summit of the pistolsmith's art. Trigger, grip, balance, accuracy, workmanship,....They're the best. For matches, I've been using an FWB P40. The recoil reduction system see...

I own, among other things, a K58 and a K2s. The grips do interchange. This is handy, because my son is a lefty, and one set of LH small grips allowed me to start him on the K58, and move on to the K2s, with a minimum of expense. The K2s does not have the elegance, if you will, of the Morini or Steyr...

Frank, The K58 is a great gun. My first AP was a used K58 from Don Nygord, about 6 years ago. I traded it for a K2s, but, recently, bought another one for my son. Since 2003, the K58 has had a "dry fire" feature. As you know, when you pump the lever, it opens the loading gate. Pulling the ...

I've had mine since 2004, purchased from the late Don Nygord. The original sear broke, was easily replaced, and I haven't had a problem since.

I mounted a Docter sight on it, and it's a sweet bullseye gun.

cheers.

When the magazine inserts up into the magazine well in the grip, it also limits the grip angle, and width. By using "top loading," the magazine well is much shorter. Gives the designer a lot more flexibility in designing the shape and adjustment of the grip. IMHO, the grip on the top-loadi...

I've never tried to talk to anyone from Match Guns, but I have found their website very helpful. The 3-D views are great, and an idea that I wish other makers would embrace.

I recently bought a lovingly used hammerli 215 from our host. "Pilkguns" was newly engraved on the gun. Great gun, in all respects, although the engraving seemed more like advertising when I first saw it, but, perhaps, it was required.

Good blog, though, even if it does take advantage of its more gullible readers.

I've got an older gun, which did have some problems that I've described in previous posts. I never put an AimPoint on it, because it seemed like it would ruin the balance, and have used it as a standard pistol. Then, recently, I found myself with a spare Docter sight, and mounted it on the MG-2. The...

I'm about to go to a shoot. It's about 20 deg. F outside, and will be about 45 or so in the range area. That gets fairly uncomfortable, but we live with it, because the cost of effectively heating the place is, well, too costly. The problem is: The ventilation system sucks the warm, if dirty, air ou...

About the "wide grip:" The gripframe is about what you'd find on a gun made for a double-stack magazine. I don't have big hands (RH Medium grips on most of my guns.), and, initially, used skateboard tape in place of the wood panels that come stock. I then saw that Rink was making an orthop...

I own one. Beautiful gun. Unique has been out of business since 2001 or so (Mine was tested by the factory in 2000.) I haven't had any reliability issues. I'll check the manual, but I know of no buffer on the DES 32. Now, the FAS 603 is a 32 with a recoil buffer that needs to be replaced, but, obvio...

I believe that the Model 14 Smith is the 38spl (K-38). The Model 16 was in 32L (K-32), with the last guns in 32 Mag.

(I use a Model 14 in Distinguished Revolver.)
