Thank you all for your insight. Joel, you know who I'm talking about. He invariably grabs the heaviest most tricked out rig available and I think that is the primary problem, that is a front heavy rifle that he is not accustomed to. Will try him on a lighter rifle to prove once and for all to him an...

Seems as though my one shooter handles recoil fairly well, good follow through. Recoils up and settles right back. so was trying to troubleshoot further.

Making the change - Precision Air - SB

Wondering if anyone else runs into the same problems as I do. Coaching my youth transitioning from Precision Air to Small Bore seems to be excruciatingly troublesome for some and not so much for others. Any insights as to why? I am thinking more along the lines of weight going from a 9-10 lb Air rif...

Transition from precision to sporter?

I'm coaching a couple of fairly good precision shooters but to make a 4 person team these 2 were asked to switch to sporter for an upcomming match. Both are more then willing but quite frustrated at the change in equipment and their seeming inability to make that nice slow small hold in standing tha...

Training Plan

I found prety much what I was looking for on targetshooting.ca (under documents library / manual #7) it is a basic 27 week training plan for Canadian Cadets. It is not just for new shooters but a good cycle plan for all skill levels, pre and post match. This one looks like it would be easily modifie...

Training plan?

Does anyone have a good basic, yet complete training plan geared to 13-14 year olds? My idea of training usually winds up too long (guess that's the Marine comming out in me) anyway, I need help putting together a good annual training plan for my shooters who are starting into competitive matches. T...

Balance

Thanks, That gives me a good start point. My son is also shooting some smallbore with a CM-2, he does OK with it but I have noticed that it is very barrel heavy since starting this thread, it balances about 8 inches in front of the trigger guard, this may explain why his smallbore scores are so much...

Balance?

I am somewhat new to the 3-P Precision Air Game and am finding out that that there is a whole lot more to position shooting then what I taught in the Marines 20 years ago. The basics are much the same but after that,,, well I'm still learning! Question, What is the recomended balance point (using ba...
