Re: New .38 match revolver - which looks very interesting

I'm wondering whether the "Richard Wilson" mentioned on the web site is the same one who, I believe, did some work with the S&W custom shop back in the mid 1990s.

edit note:- I think I've just answered my own question with this web site http://www.wilsoncustomguns.com/

The ISSF weight limit for Air Pistol is 1500g, which is 3.306934lbs.

I agree though, that is heavy.

Re: AP Xs WTF?

Prior to 01/01/2009 AP ties were broken in the following order:-

Count-back in 10 shot series
Number of 10s, 9s, 8s, etc
Number of Inner Tens (Xs)

On 01/01/2009 the order changed to:-

Number of Inner Tens (Xs)
Count-back in 10 shot series
Number of 10s, 9s, 8s, etc

Re: SIUS Electronic Target

I get the impression that the OP was asking about the front face plate rather then the pellet catchers. The 10m Sius targets at Bisley have been in use since 2002. The pellet marks, paint touch-ins and repainting are testament to the fact that not everybody hits the target face every time. I have sp...

Break Dancing

I'm sure we will all be delighted (NOT) to hear that Breaking, a competitive form of Break Dancing, will be a sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The other new sports will be Surfing, Skateboarding and Climbing.

Re: Air Pistol for Free Pistol Training

From memory, going back to the mid 1980s, the trigger of the FAS 606 was designed to be used in the FAS 605 Free Pistol by just removing one of the trigger springs.

I don't believe that the 605 ever made it past the prototype stage.

That's the question, isn't it: Are you in it to play, or are you in it to work & improve?

Re: Current Pistol Shooting Glasses Comparison

Thanks guys. Another question, are these frames legal for free pistol? Specifically if you don't have a lens over the left eye but just a blinder? Doesn't seem the safest... If they aren't, what are people using for free pistol? Yes, they're legal but, in common with all ISSF pistol events, the non...

I am going to try this, thanks!
Just to double check, this is only a training aid and it won't be legal, correct?
Providing it's not a fluorescent colour it's fine for the match.

Politics

Can I start by thanking everyone for making my life easy by avoiding political posts on TargetTalk. As we get close to the election it is reasonable to expect that feelings will increase. I would really appreciate it however if the restraint could continue for a few more days. I am sure there will b...

Just another tip, when you enter the number of inner tens, just put in the number. The spreadsheet is formatted to put in the "X".

You might also like this attached file. It also adds second name and initial ti the ranking list, allowing you to just sort on column L. This allow you to sort an initial list in alphabetical order and then enter the scores as they come in. Names with scores will be ranked as before but those withou...

Re: calculating tied scores accounting for Inner 10s

The attached file ranks athletes by:-

Total
Inner tens
Shots 51-60
Shots 41-50
Shots 31-40
Shots 21-30
Shots 11-20
Shots 1-10

It then gives the rank in column M.

Hope this helps

Re: ISSF Free Pistol

How bout they just replace the stupid Air Pistol team match with Free Pistol? At least that would offer different people a chance to shoot in the Olympics rather than the same ones that qualified in Air Pistol... I'm afraid you've completely missed the point. They are trying to reduce the number of...

How about when they ask TWICE?
Then I would probably suspect that they have a problem with their gun. Nobody can be THAT stupid :-)
