Re: 10m Air Pistol Target Height

I am wondering what is the height of the 10m air pistol target, from the center of the 10 ring to the ground. Is there also a lighting standard on the target surface? Any comment will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Target height 1.4m +/- 0.05m above the level of the firing point as rule 6.3.9 Targ...

I know this at a slight tangent to discussions, but whatever quota places are awarded, it is up to the particular country how they use them (and to some extent I believe in what event). Rob. Partially true. Countries are allowed to send whoever they want to fill a quota place in an event providing ...

Re: Olympic quota system broken?

Perhaps the rule not allowing a competitor to double-earn a slot should be re-visited. As you say, we are probably on different wavelengths on this one. I certainly cannot see how allowing a single shooter to win his/her country more than one slot will bring any benefits. As I said earlier, the slo...

Re: Olympic quota system broken?

It would seem to me that the ISSF and the Olympics need to re-visit how slots are earned in the future. If you're going to have an Olympic match only every 4 years, at least you can have full relays! I hate to say it but I think you may have the wrong idea of what the quota place system is all abou...

I used to think that I was confused, but now I'm not that certain.

When will the ISSF learn that the important people, the shooters, need time to train in new match conditions.

With less than 6 months to go before the new rules come in it is already too late.

Re: ISSF World Championships - why only every 4 years?

One thing that might be an issue is I believe I read that the ISSF specifies what the entry fees must be. If this is the case, I can see how this match might be a financial disaster. Establishing an arbitrary entry fee, without regard for the specific financial circumstances of the hosting range, i...

If you just want to print targets from your computer why don't you download the (free) Scatt software. That allows you to print targets giving the correct visual impression for any distance.

Re: Trigger pull weight system

Check first with our host Pilkguns, if they don't have it then you may try Champion's Choice. I know the latter has a set that includes the rods and several weights for ISSF and NRA rifle and pistol events for around $85. I got the impression that Rustam was after the dial type gauges (to set up a ...

Everyone I know shoots duel / rapid fire with point of aim, taking between 18-25 clicks to move from their sub-six hold when shooting the Sport Pistol / Centrefire / Standard Handgun events. The exception to this is the 10 yard rapid fire air pistol event, the new one with black targets the size of...

It would be interesting to see who has been picking up the major AP60 medals if Morini have only managed 1 silver and 3 bronze.

Re: CF duel target

Will the new International Rapid Fire Target be used for International Center Fire Duel? Thanks! JLK My understanding is that it will be, but we will have to wait until the rules are released to get final confirmation. If the 2001 rules are an indication of when that will be, expect to know sometim...

Re: Manurhin MR 32 Match DA or SA

It is easier to use a pistol like Walther or Pardini but then you must use .32 SW (Yes, there is Hammerli 240 in .38 spec.) and we all know how difficult that is, furthermore there is a problem with malfunctions, it will of course not feed well in important competitions. So, revolvers do have advan...

However, this is not the best unit for ISSF. It is great for Conventional since most shooters will do 1911 style pistols for Centerfire and .45 matches. I can say the Marvel has probably added more points to my Centerfire and .45 scores than any other changes. And the original question was about a ...

The problem will be range capacity. Quota slots which are awarded to range capacity. There are some wildcards liek the one Skanaker will get, and some underdeveloped programs. The chances that a US shooter will get on the line is slim, It would need to be a no show for a shooter. Greg That is not t...

Re: Air rifles in the UK

I'll be visiting London during the summer and I wondered about buying a rifle there. I thought about a second hand FWB P70, wood or alu. Where should I look for it? How much I'd have to spend? And can I get it across the border to Poland (EU now :)? Best regards, Michal Szczyrek mszczyrek@poczta.fm...
