Can you check your pistols and observe how much travel to expect from the second stage spring before it fires? By simple observation it is very hard for me to notice any deviation in the leght of the second stage spring after it's been engaged. What travel? I can see no movement of the second stage...

Sorry but with your opening line of "My current trigger setting is not engaging the second stage at all." it really does sound extremely close to the problem previously discussed. In fact it sounds so close that I would certainly try carrying out the adjustments described. That's obviously...

Re: Sighting in Pistol

If you said sub 6 O'Clock please explain where you would hold on a 10M target. Give me specifics where you would hold. What rings are we talking about. I use a sub 6 o'clock hold but haven't got the faintest idea what ring is the centre of my holding area. I just hold in an area that is comfortable...

I suggest you look at the LP10 section of the Stey Web Site and the grips section of the Morini Web Site.

Which pistol or grip manufacturer are you interested in. Most of them have their own method of sizing grips.

That looks right Warren. Not "regularly in the mid-high 570's" but it is still early days and this makes them pretty impressive.

It would be interesting to hear what other international shooters are scoring under the 2005 rules.

If you are talking about Rapid Fire then you may want to check that. It's not what he told me.

As a dedicated .22 short Rapid Fire pistol, and therefore unuseable in ISSF matches in a few weeks time, I doubt if it is still available.

There seem to be several comments in favour of CO2 but can any one tell me why there are so very few, if any, of the world's top shooters using them. The overwhelming majority use compressed air. There must be some reason for it. marketing and fashion, perhaps? At Olympic and World Cup Final level?...

Re: CO2 vs. Compressed Air

I currently own a older model of the IZH46 (not the IZH46M). I want to purchase a CO2 or Compressed Air pistol. I would appreciate any suggestions on make or model. Also, what are the pros & cons of CO2 vs. Compressed Air. Thanks for your help. Lee Can I suggest that you look through past threa...

ISSF 50m 3-Position free rifle weight limit is 8.5 kg, 6.5 for ladies' 3-position sport rifle, 5.5 for air rifles. That compares to a maximum of 1.7kg for the olympic pistols (air pistol to be specific, assuming I'm remembering the numbers right). To be accurate the 3P and prone rifle weight limit ...

If you want to stick to the new rules (from Jan 1) then remember that under 6.3.15.2.1 "The nearest edge of the bench or stand must be placed 10cm forward of the 10m Firing line."

The bench should also 0.7m - 0.8m high.

If you're looking for a non-ISSF event, and you obviously will never find an ISSF approved one, then it seems to me that your idea of a "Classic Rapid Fire" match is the obvious answer. As you said, it can be shot concurrently with the ISSF event so wouldn't need anyadditional organisation...

I enjoy AP shooting because, apart from the impossibly long distance Free Pistol event (I'm lucky if I can see that far let alone hit the target), it is the only ISSF pistol event our Nanny UK Government now allows me to shoot.

Given the choice however, Standard Pistol would win every time.

As a Morini 162 EI owner, it would be good to have the grip adjustment capability of the Steyr. I have always thought it a shame that the electronic module is not just fixed in the bottom of the grip with a flexible connection to the rest of the gun. The grip adjustments could then be a possibility...
