I suspect that you already know the answer David. It's the one that gives the athlete the feeling they prefer.

Re: Standing...

The worst coaches in the world are the ones that claim theirs is the ONLY right way to do things. Every shooter is different, and what works for one may not work well at all for another. That's why studying videos and slavishly mimicking the latest gold medal Olympic shooter too closely is a waste ...

Re: Which is a better 10 M match pistol

Some manufacturers will provide equipment to top level shooters to try to crank up their product's medal count. Someone posted on another thread that Pardini has done this. Manufacturers have been doing this for 40 years that I know of. At the same time, no top shooter will jeopardise their career ...

I dot have a tv and there is nothing available over the internet. I'm sure if you really wanted to you could find some coverage. You might need a VPN and a subscription, but that's fair enough as the broadcasters have to pay a lot for the broadcast rights. As a starting point, https://gtimg.tokyo20...

Sorry for the confusion.

The OP changed his post to include some "strange" IP addresses, so I deleted him.

I've now locked the thread.

That is sad news.

I shot against him several times in the '80s.

My condolences from this side of the Atlantic

Back in the day I would take up all except the final let-off in Standard Pistol (FAS602) and CentreFire (FAS603) in the Ready position.

I never had a problem shooting worms.

Re: Free Pistol 50m target height

From my searching on this, I read that the target centre should be 75cm from the ground with a variation allowed of +-50cm. Could someone explain why, while other disciplines (10 and 25m) are 140cm? Thanks! Remember that's the height above the level of the firing point floor, not the ground level a...

I prefer it not to lock open, Standard/Rapid Fire, so that I can fire a "sixth" shot.

Re: Hammerli International 208

That manual doesn't show the screw/switch in question.

That doesn't surprise me as I believe it was only fitted on early 208, and not on any 208S.

Several years ago I mentioned it at the Hammerli service centre and not everyone there understood what I was talking about.

Juniors may participate in all ISSF Championships and the Olympic Games a...

Re: Do you think this grip extends past the Wrist?

It may well be it does not touch the wrist anywhere, but as I read the rule the grip should not obstruct the view of the wrist. That interpretation would make sense, since the point is to permit controlling whether the wrist is unsupported. But the rules do not say that the grip should not obstruct...

Re: Do you think this grip extends past the Wrist?

But on the first photo there is a visible shadow from the grip way into the wrist, and it's not like there's some oblique lighting angle. All I can see on the first photo is the grip touching the hand on the closed side of the grip. The grip might be touching the wrist elsewhere, but that photo doe...
