Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated. ronpistolero: Thanks for the Youtube reference - very interesting. If the LP50e has similar specs to the LP10 then with an average of 527 f/s (161 m/s) mine is on the top end of the "ideal". If I factor in Randy 152's 10f/s deviation then all ...

pellet velocity LP50e

I have an LP50e and fired a batch of pellets through a chrono. I got a low of 512 f/s and a high of 539 f/s with an average of 527. I checked the Steyr website but couldn't find their "factory set" figure. Can anyone supply that figure please. Just as a matter of interest what percentage v...

Windout targets become very, very distracting when shooting with 2 eyes open - electronic targets not a problem. Until all competitions use electronic targets I'll use an occulder

Steve thanks for the rapid/consistent follow up.. "A smooth, straight-to-the-rear trigger squeeze that is also rapid is more consistent and more predicatable than an equally smooth, equally consistent, equally straight-to-the-rear slower squeeze." I get it. However it raises another questi...

Steve thanks for the re-centering idea and David for chasing up the detail. I will give it a try. Yana, David is correct, I much prefer the wider front sight. As to the reach forward trigger blade - haven't heard of it before and did a web search but couldn't find a link nor could I find it on the P...

a new Morini 162ei - how do I...

Picked up a new Morini 162ei a couple of weeks ago. Love it, mostly... 2 problems are giving me mental grief and any help/suggestions would be appreciated Firstly - the gun came with a 5mm front sight. Exactly what I wanted. The rear sight gap was too narrow so I widened it to the maximum allowable ...

- Was my trigger execution rapid, smooth, and balanced with no affect on alignment? Steve Steve Others have raised concerns as to the subjective nature of the list and the potential for some users to be too self critical (maybe that is something they need to work on as well). Me, I think it is spot...

How to grip

I purchased a Gripmaster (medium) a week ago and have been using it daily since. The use has caused me problems, not physical (no RSI) just a mental debate on whether my 10 year grip on a pistol is adequate. My original instructor advised to hold my gun like I was giving a firm handshake and I have ...

Come on Lee, you tried the pistol.

What was your first impression of the trigger?

Tony

BTW £1680

OMG that's $3500 (Australian) - hope that includes 1 shot and dry fire mags; maybe I can permanently dry fire it and save on pellets ;)

Lee OK... it is all about the trigger. From posts elsewhere the downside for the LP50 mechanical is the trigger; a good trigger but not as good as the LP10's. Now I don't mind roll over triggers (doesn't put me off even for shooting precision - never could get a 2 stage trigger to work for me anyway...

Ouch!!! I had been led to believe they would start shipping in July. I hope it is worth the wait. BTW - if you can't wait Lee what are you going to get - the mechanical trigger or something else?

Re: scatt

I think All scatt users are looking for guidence. It was David's original Post and wow has it gone in a great direction. Posts elsewhere commented on the importance of the L Factor. According to the article by Scott Shaffer the L Factor is the distance the barrel travels in the last second before s...

I am thinking of buying a second hand Rika system to practice at home with whichever pistol I end up buying. I know the LP50 gives a nice click when dry firing sufficient to trigger the Rika. A dumb question but seriously asked. What does the Morini electronic trigger give when fired in dry fire mode?

Thanks for the input on the Morini (and the LP10 - maybe should not have mentioned that one). I had an LP10 a few years ago (sold it 2 years ago, left the sport due to work commitments and am now back and ready to shoot again). I found it a relatively forgiving gun compared to my then previous gun, ...

Oz, thanks for that. All OK on the need to road-test each pistol. Also OK on the electronic trigger being a pro but specifically, why is it a con for you?

Morini 162ei

I am looking to acquire either a Morini 162ei or an LP10 in the very near future. A few questions to those who own/owned or have used the Morini on a regular basis. Yes I know different features appeal to different people and I will try before I buy but when people love a gun, well they love it and ...
