Anschutz 9015 Club VS Junior Air Cylinder
The Anschutz 9015 Air Rifle action is sold with a sizeable quantity of options. For our high school team we are contemplating the Club and the Junior. With all things being equal the only differences I see are the butt plate and the air cylinder. On the Club model you get a rubber butt plate where o...

Re: NRA writing off competitive shooters
May I suggest forming a new group? I think we can all read the writing on the wall with the NRA (as has been discussed often here). We all agree that there's an issue, but without capital or publicity nothing can be done. It's not too difficult a process, big-picture wise. Small picture is much mor...

Re: 8001 Velocity Too High
Thank you SportTex for the diagram and the advice. And thanks to Red also because we use, and I own the 8002.
I will let everyone know how this turns out as soon as I make the adjustment.
Regards,
Mike

Re: 8001 Velocity Too High
Hello JHmartin, HN makes a "green" non-lead pellet that appears to spec out at .525g. All of the kids are shooting the same brand of pellet, the CC made by HN (cheap). The only thing green about it is the label on the lid. And all of the "rifle" pellets sold by CC are .53g regard...

Re: 8001 Velocity Too High
Thanks for the input. As we are close to Champions Choice all of my athletes shoot the same brand of pellet, which is the CC house brand 53 grain weight. Scott's shop is about an hour away so that is of course a good option. I was hoping there might be a simple method for decreasing the velocity tha...

At the 2016 MBA classic in Nashville TN. the CMP portable Megalink range was set up in 2 gyms to run the 3PAR matches. The finals this year was a 24 shot Elimination style standing match. Chance and Maya of CMP Anniston did a great job of announcing the results as we went along and telling the story...

8001 Velocity Too High
We were doing some velocity testing with a chronograph last night on all of our team air rifles. One of our 8001 models was over 600 FPS. 5 shot spread was in the 620's range. We need it under 600 to be legal. To my knowledge it came from the factory at this speed and we've not touched it. 2 seasons...

Coaching. The 2013 Rules permitted non-verbal coaching in Shotgun. The new Rules permit non-verbal coaching in all events. [/i] Am I the only one who see's how this is going to go? Verbal means one may not issue a spoken command that could be construed as a coaching instruction? Yes or No? So what ...

I like to take pictures of my fired targets. Did it at Perry in 2013 with no issues. Even got permission from the chief range officer to use my camera. Did at Bristol in 2014 and never a word was said. On the last day of prone at Bristol 2015 the Line officer and the chief range officer and I had a ...

Hey Nick, A couple of things. The results spreadsheets appears to be only the Marksman class results. In your photos of the Turbo you show it with the forehand adapter on and off and you shooting with it on. Since this stock looks remarkably like a Precise stock from Anschutz, have you tried shootin...

Re: I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500
Modena, I too am left handed, but I have a dominant right eye. I shoot right handed, smallbore, shotgun and pistol. It feels unnatural to do those things lefty. I write, throw, eat, bowl, left handed. But I bat right handed and swing a golf club right handed. It wasn't that I was shown how to do the...

Re: Suggestions for "improving" Smallbore Nationals
For a 6400 match with multiple team events, 5 days should be allocated to run the match. Ideally, day 3 being reserved for all team competitions. The captain of the Dewar team has the option to select any day to shoot that match after the qualified candidates are identified. The roadblock for day 3 ...

Air Rifle discharged sparks
Hello All, I want to know if anyone has ever observed this. We were doing a "black out" drill where my athletes were checking NPA consistency in low light aiming a black paper. 10m Anschutz 8001 air rifle and Champions Choice green tin pellets. One of the shots created sparks out the muzzl...

Re: Product Review: Champion's Choice Spotting Scope Tripod
At the MBA range in Nashville, between two High School teams, there must be at least 30 of these scope stands and heads in use. From what I can tell they hold up very well. I've used Freeland head for years to shoot prone and I'm considering switching to the CC mount because it's easier to move into...

Re: Where to buy smallbore windmill?
Many smallbore shooters are using a windmill made by Rick Capozzi.
It is very sensitive and made in the same manner as the Raymer Windmills were.
You may try calling him at 203 375 4806. He lives in CT.

Has anyone seen a link to the full scoring tally for air rifle and smallbore.
I can watch all kinds of videos and I know who won. But no full score sheet.
