Re: 22 bullseye starter guns
Yes I know spend as much as you can afford..... In order of my meager knowledge of 22 auto out of the box with custom grips, triggers.... I am venturing into the darkside from rifle to pistol. Open sights to start with a longer range goal of a dot after I start climbing the scoreboard with the basi...

Re: spraying lead, not in a good way
I have been shooting a SIG 226 for a couple of years. 400- 600 rounds per week , you can double that on weeks when I compete in Bulls-eye and Combat Competitions. I have noticed in my recent practice sessions, that there are small holes on the paper outside the target area. I am shooting 25 yard ta...

Re: when stoped by the police with air rifles or smallbore r
the basic question is this.. In almost every state (I think there are only two where it's not the case) an air rifle is not a firearm (as another poster pointed out). Even if it were a firearm (which it isn't), as the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous state courts have had to explain to the governmen...

Re: Target aid - can someone explain why it worked
Normally I shoot the normal 10 meter target, Today I modified one slightly and got great results. Usually I aim at 6 o'clock and one inch below the 7 ring. Usually with good results but a mixture of 10's - 7s, mostly 10's - 8s. Today I put a horizontal line with a marker about one inch long where I...

Re: SETTING SIGHTS ON AN LP 1 OR LP 10
Is the best way to set sights by use a vise? Thinking the pistol should be vise set or is there a better way to set sights? What do you guys do? I'm sure if your not set properly you hit 10's only with luck. Thanks Ron In my experience, you will get different results relative to the sights from the...

Oldcaster, I've printed your post to save. Looks like sage information. For the OP, if you already bought the Laser Cast bullets, I can't completely answer your specific question because I've never used them in a revolver. I did come across the Laser Cast Reloading Manual (they did publish one back ...

I use 3.1 gr. of TiteGroup and it's plenty snappy. I think 3.5 gr. of Bullseye would be on the hot side. Would likely be a very good idea to borrow a chrono and as always work up from less powder watching for pressure signs as you go. About the Zero bullets . . . I haven't ordered any because all I ...

The' outdated arguments' which I mentioned are those based on a document written in a very different time and environment to the one which prevails in USA today. Perhaps the arguments are not outdated, but I would still suggest that basing individual behaviour on a literal interpretation of your co...

Re: Police Powers and 2A
ALB, I've spent some time carefully considering your premise. For the life of me, I can't see what Police Powers have to do with the US Second Amendment. National Guard is rightly only used in times of State or National Emergencies. While the Militia of the 18th century was the Founding Fathers pre...

The needs of an inner city resident and a Montana cowboy do not differ when it comes to the basic natural right of defending oneself from either a tyrannical government or criminal bullies. Pat, this one sentence completely hits the nail on the head. The ability of some pols (mostly local governmen...

Re: squeezing in some practice
i really wanted to practice today for my own sake. but today is one of the darn working saturdays, the evening is booked for a dinner, i will have to drive pretty far for it. suddenly i looked at my plastic mineral water bottle, one liter... hmmmm... LP 10 some 950 odd grams, hold it up for 45 seco...

Re: Exemptions
This post is so fundamentally wrong, that it demands a response. I know Sandy Santibanez would have had some pretty strong words to say about this, but sadly he no longer here to reply, so I guess I'll have to do it. We obviously disagree. The two options listed above had nothing to do with Califor...

Re: Free-Pistol grips for a LP50E?
I shoot silhoutte and have an LP50E on order from Pilk, but I'm looking for a laminate free-pistol (wrap-around) grip for the gun. Larry's guns sells the Rink free style, but not for an LP50E. There is a guy I shoot with that swears his free-style grip for his LP50 came from Rink a few years ago. I...

Re: AP shooting video
Howdy, I want to watch a video of the top 5 guys shooting a series of several shots, uninterrupted. I've seen the ISSF videos, but they cut away from the shooters, or have graphics splashed over the shooters, or show views of the crowd watching the shooters. I just want to see the guys shoot, see w...

Re: Exemptions
It's worth pointing out that firearms laws rarely have an exemption for ISSF shooters. While of course what Mike said is generally true, there is a significant exception in California. After the draconian and cynically named "safe handgun" law was passed, Sandy Santibanez and others manag...

Thanks Philadelphia. Interesting how different societies can have very different philosophies, even though these societies share a degree (perhaps not as much as we might think?) of common descent in population and law (I'm talking about some English-speaking countries). While all humans share some...
