Topic: Air Pistol - Compressed Air Cylinder Adaptors

This isn't such a big problem, since most air guns are supplied with their own adaptor. Most modern guns have 300 bar adaptors and will fit both types of cylinders. Normally you will store the adaptor with the gun in its case. You just swap the adaptor according to which gun you are filling. Since t...

I've seen another way of making a lead trap: I found the idea of a lead trap somewhere on the net, posted it on a forum and a buddy came up with this, including pictures: You need plenty of used lead pellets, an expendable frying pan, and a gas powered camping stove so you can do the job outdoors. T...

What Rover said about "shooting in the past". My current "project" is related to this and not my own invention. I used to wait until I was in the aiming area before establishing 2nd stage "contact". Now I try to do that a little earlier so that the trigger squeezing pro...

So many things to consider........ But: There will be meetings, and there are some dates coming up. Deadlines. Will they get all these things sorted out in time? Or will there be a final committee panic/stampede to finalize everything? Maybe the classic "we'll let the old board members make the...

So now there's work to be done: before making new rules someone has to tell what inventions we should expect that would revolutionize shooting. And they would have to define what should be allowed and what should be banned. Some examples would be: Smart mass distribution. Different kinds of Freefloa...

I think it's commendable to try sorting this out before such devices hit the market. Changing the rules after something has been used in competition always creates trouble and bad feelings. Only comfort is that todays shooting is at such a high level that setting new records by "cheating" ...

There are are many such products. One of the common ones in Norwegian hardware stores is "Torr-ball", it's probably sold all over the world:

In the German thread that's linked above, the text in the drawing is in Swedish. And this means that the Gehmann pump is made by FX.
I know cause I've got one; swapped it second hand with an identical pump marked FX to get the right fittings......

Just something I learned the hard way during my active archery days: I tended to release the shot the moment my sight reached the target centre. This can be very quick and precise when it works, but ended up with the expectation of a correct sight picture triggering the release and developed into &q...

I guess the question is whether you intend to compete with a smallbore and should be practicing with an air rifle that has a similar "feel". Then you'll need a "full size" thing, and the closest would be an old second hand match rifle like som have already mentioned. CO2 is an in...

CPM1

I'm not sure I understood everything right, but just some standard advice: I normally leave the cylinder in the freezer for a while before filling. This makes it possible to overfill so that there there i practically no gas (only liquid CO2) in the cylinder. This may jam the mechanism. You should we...

Maybe you somehow got liquid CO2 into the valve?
Since the CPM1 has a vertical cylinder,
I guess there's no other protection against such a situation.

Just a thought: How many have tried shooting while sitting? This "removes a variable from the equation". Those who find this comfortable will find this secure and stable. There will always be small movements and swaying that need correction, and eliminating these will reduce the burden of ...

Just one thing: 1/2 or 2/3 is not "full". Many shoot FWB CO2 in my club. They mostly fill to within 10 grams or less from FWBs recommende max. It's all stamped on the bottle, and we use a digital kitchen scale with one gram accuracy. And yes, we leave the cylinders in the freezer for about...

500 lifts

500 lifts in a day doesn't sound to bad if you just remember to do them. When I was more active a couple of years ago, I often shot more than 150 shots in an evening sesson. Normally not much more than an hour. That's about two shots a minute. If you're in good shape, that's no big thing. It may inv...
