Re: Did anyone pass Pilkington's "555+" test w/ a Steyr comp
I just passed the one year mark and failed his challenge. Made 555+ plenty of times in practice, but I still got way too much adrenaline going when the starting gun fires for real competition. Longer radius won't fix this loose nut behind the trigger. (Shooting an LP-50 by the way, more fun than a b...

Re: Questions for the "Experts"- New Steyr LP50 HP
Second on getting the used bottle at a dive shop-they'll typically refill it no questions asked if you buy it there. Show the shop your fill adapter so they know what you are talking about, and if the bottle has a yoke style fitting, they may swap out to 200 bar DIN fitting for you. If yoke style fi...

Re: Sporters/precision
Coming from an LP-10, you may not be pleased with the feel of a sporter rifle trigger. They can be made better.... but will not feel like a $2000 pistol trigger. An older wooden stocked FWB C60, P70, Anschutz 2002, Walther PCP or side-cocker like a FWB - 602 can give you a very, very nice trigger fo...

Re: Other than a coach, best training tool for junior shoote
As a parent who has graduated one from college and have two in college, I have a three word mantra: "In state tuition".
Don't rule out possibility of walk on to KY versus fractional tuition scholarship to out of state school.

Re: Smallbore training guides, etc - to hang in Club
The CMP also has a variety of pre-printed items which may be ordered, and training posters which may be downloaded. Not all is specific to small bore, but fundamentally correct. http://thecmp.org/training-tech/coaching-resources/ http://thecmp.org/communications/publications/ http://thecmp.org/wp-co...

Anschutz 1813 Action Screw Question
I downloaded a parts manual for an 1807/1813 from the Anschutz web site (snippet attached) and noticed the action screws were originally furnished with what appears to be a stack of belleville washers. Older manual for 1913 shows same arrangement. Is this still used on new wooden stocked 1913's? Or ...

Tailor for shooting clothing
Anyone in Michigan, Ohio or Indiana area have a recommendation for a tailor they've used successfully on shooting clothing?
Got a shooter who has dropped 40 pounds/4 pants sizes over the last several months, needless to say his custom stuff is now in need of adjustment.
Thanks

Re: Which FWB would you reccomend
Older model Feinwerkbau may not be the answer if you want to scope-the P-70's loading gate (at least on the 10 meter versions) is located on the center line of bore and pops up to occupy the same space a scope wants to be mounted. P-70 field target appears to have a shorter length gate allowing moun...

Re: number of refills from scuba tank
For practice and in-club use there's no harm in letting the big tank get down to less than 1500 psi/100 atmospheres, that gets you a lot more refills. Just have to hike back to the equipment room a little more often to refill the rifle's tank, maybe every 125 shots versus 200. Talking about most mat...

Re: Felt recoil, light vs heavy projectile
Waiting on an airplane, so unfortunately for you all I got some time to show some simplified calculations for the question at hand. I will avoid use of integrals or derivations from differential elements, as they are unnecessary and obnoxious. If we accelerate a 150 grain projectile from 0 to 800 ft...

Re: Scatt anticipation question
Scatt calibrates distance from sensor to target array, so distance corresponds to distance from front sight to target. While you can electronically center the shots after calibrating, I prefer to accept only calibration shots I call a 10, and then not bother with electronic centering; not too time c...

Scattological Analysis Requested
OK Scatt analysts, (Scatt with two t's), I need some help here. Without leading the witness, having some difficulty with textbook vertical descent. Is this within range, or should we drive for pure vertical, if so, any recommendations on exercises to do so? I see another issue I think we need to add...

Silhouette vs ISSF/NRA targets
I attached a few drawings which show silhouette targets scaled to 50 yards on same sheet of paper as A-23 or A-51 targets. Generally speaking, a 9 ring shot will tip a silhouette target, even compared to the A-23 "bucket bull." A good sport, makes rifle shooters stand on their hind hooves ...
