I'm not so sure. I think the rearsight is for a 601, and that the 600 & 601 rearsights are not necessarily 100% interchangeable.

Re: Recoilless target firearm

My recollection is that that the shooter was Walter Frescura, and that the rifle was at least to some extent of his own devising. But my recollection isn't always reliable, likewise probably it's an age/time thing and likewise I'm not ploughing through years of old magazines. Sorry not to be more he...

The Universal has a muzzle tube with a dovetail, so you can fit alternative high or low foresights.

Re: A comparision of loading ports between the various rifle

Very interesting, and a most important aspect of rifle design. Have you ever looked at a BSA International, which gives excellent access to its loading port (if you can call it that)? Ladies in our club have found these BSAs superior to the older Anschutzs for this sole reason. Just so. The winner ...

A Tyrolean stock.

AFAIK a stock for stationary standing target shooting favoured typically in German-speaking countries.

Doesn't really answer your questions - not directly at any rate, but may be of interest nevertheless.

Cross-posted with you. I think that vendor is actually Anschutz themselves. Why don't you e-mail them direct on that eGun-Anfrage address?

There's any number of those on that site. I notice though that you'll have to buy the metal parts separately.

Mouche? Sauer?

It would be more germane (hopefully you spot the joke in there) if you said what fabric the jacket was made of. E.g. Twill, canvas, leather, Cordura or?

Someone has removed the safety catch.

It's a rather odd colour also, but that could be any number of things, many of them quite innocuous.

I believe that Walter's rifle had the action permanetly bonded into the stock so the barrel could be free-floated. If I was going to update the action, this is what I'd look at. I wouldn't. I'd use a barrel clamp and float the action. But I'd be wondering how I was going to get all the adjustabilit...

I had it in my head that someone had tried electric or electronic (as distinct from striker) ignition for .22 rimfire around that time and that this was the gun it was done in.

On further consideration I now think "someone" was Krico, not Walther.

It's a Walther BV.

The action is pretty much as Tim described, except I don't think they ever had magazines.
