A luggage lock is not a Cali approved gun lock and there's no way a gun shop is going to let me walk out with that. The shop told me that they have locks that are inexpensive that I can buy and that the law doesn't state that I even need to put it on the pistol. However, once I put it in my car, it...

Injuries ...

I have found that the only time I have "injured" myself when shooting is when I was already injured from something else .... weightlifting-throwing-rotator cuff issues. I then tried to shoot AP,FP,SP, RFP & CF all in two days. For the next week I couldn't rise my arm above my shoulder....

I recommend IZH 46(M)

Best bang for your buck is the IZH-46 .... I was(am) a Bullseye shooter(NRA-Exp 1996) I was at the Air Gun Range - Camp Perry 1998 and tried an old FWB cocking lever during their matches. I shot well enough to win a couple of "day match" medals and ended up buying an IZH-46 from Pilk Guns ...

Re: not Beeman

I think Beeman made a FP in USA. I held one at a gun show in WI back in 2004 .... the piece appeared to have been made in the 1970's - It "looked" like an FP, yet the trigger wasn't up to par with other FPs ... the trigger was about 1.5# .... Beeman didn't make anything - he just imported...

Props to Mr Derr

No backbone huh, use your real name and show some backbone. Then come see me for a lesson in life. Seems like you have some of the same feeling of one of the forums colorful shooting failures with a narcissistic personality. Too bad your shooting never met the level to get you in the Olympics. So e...

If the marks on the objective bell aren't correct, can't the scope just be adjusted (objective lens screwed in/out a bit) until they are correct and then locked back down again? When only one position, that is possible but what distance is your baseline cuz when focused at 50yards, my 50' & 100...

So if you're not shooting competitions (where the 20 year rule might be an issue) and you don't need the comfort of the removable cylinder, no need to upgrade. Or you could traing up to 590, go to a world cup and get the parts for free from Morini ;-) I guess i won't need Morini to give me a conver...

AHG aluminum LOP & Grip

My old model 1413 is now in an AHG aluminum stock. My measurement for prone is considered too long by most. My measurement from front of grip to buttplate LOP is 13" and the trigger is 1.5" forward fo grip so Over All LOP is 14.5" I have 36" sleeves and really long fingers, so us...

[quote="Rover"]Back in the '60s, the Russians and their buddies were kicking the world's butt in pistol shooting with this idea. I started using it about 30 years ago as an easy way to open up too narrow rear sight notches. You buy a round chain saw file at the hardware store. They are unt...

Why would you want to empty the cylinder? I don't know of anyone who does that. Ruby & Art Fox mentioned the need to dump the cylinders at the end of the day. They may not have been speaking about the Morini at the time, but I don't have an English manual to confim. My Hammerli 480 provides a b...

Toz half-round rear sight "notch"

What was the theory behind the half/round notch for the Toz rear sight option?

My rear sights have the square on one side and the half/round on the other side of the blade.

Or learn some german, it's not THAT difficult - when we buy something from the states, we don't expect the literature to be in anything else than english, either. If the frame says "EA", it should have the removable cylinder. But that's a five minute operation, somebody probably switched ...

I have been using the Vari-X Leu EFR target for 50' and outdoor 50Y/M 100yd. I am not sure that there is a side focus EFR available and last I knew, not all the AO target units focus down to 50' and the side focus units may have the same issue. I find that the "set-up time" between prone d...

Morini 162 E manual - in English. Got it - Thanks JiriK!

I was able to score a nice Morini 162 EA (German) with a fixed cylinder. The only problem is that I don't read German & the manual is in German .... Does anyone have a Morini 162 EA or EI with an English manual that can be scanned for me? The 162 EA manual is pretty redimentary, so if anyone wan...

My scores really vary between scope & iron sights. You may just need to spend your $s on ammo and range time .... I wish I had the time.

Buy "Ways of the Rifle" book and that should keep you from having to buy new sites anytime soon.

Good Luck & Welcome back!

Per Dr Wong, try using one or two older prescription glasses .. It works great for me, but be careful. With the front sight really sharp, it shows your wobble. :

FPS/MPS country "firearm" designation

If I recall, some countries require an AP or AR as needing to be registered if it's FPS/MPS is greater than a certain #. The issue arose when some international shooters were not allowed into a country for an event since the literature on the APs showed that the FPS/MPS could be varied and the upper...
