Just to clarify, I think the OP's 20x40mm wasn't the size of the trace, but the length of it. Mine's about the same length (as reported by the SCATT), but generally stays within the 50m target's 10 ring.

I found a spent case lying around, and it does seem to work better. It worked every time I tried it (and ejected about half the time working the bolt normally), but I'll have to see how it works in position. But it appears to be a big improvement. Thanks!
