"Firm" would be what I've been taught. Elaborating would be: enough pressure to maintain 'firm' contact to shoulder. So if a sling is properly used, the standing position would be the one to consider as the sling would take care of the pressure on the other 2.Remember that shooting should ...

Get a couple of extra springs from Daisy, they are CHEAP. Cut the 2-3 coils off. If it's too light, stretch is a bit. If it's still too light, replace it with another & cut less off. Then carefully stone the contact surface with a fine grit (Akansas hard) or anything that feels like 400 grit wet...

No, the Walthars are very good. Crosman also uses them. I was thinking of the 953(?) that I believe uses a Daisy barrel. Looks like a 853 with synthetic stock.

I don;t see the model "853cm" on Daisy's website.
Does it have the 'Walthar' barrel?

In addition, check length of pull. If the gun is too long, drill 2 holes about 2-1/2" to 3" apart from the butt end towards the reciever. Make the hole pilot sixe for any long common screw like a drywall screw. Save the piece you cut off for future growth, the holes will give a good alignm...

I'll open my mouth so someone can stick my foot into it if they wish, LOL. Mostly people don't learn the same or interpret words the same. Coach to me means support & only constructive criticism. Best if no criticism is percieved by shooter. Most people have the ability to be very good shooters ...

I agree with Pat McCoy, daisy's stuff seems better. There is no repair kit for the CO2 inner parts that I know of, even from Daisy. When I've repaired the cylinders, I used auto orings & red locktite. I hope I never have to get them apart :-). With the locktite, the gas should never get to the o...

If an air rifle is sighted @10 meters with no cant, what effect would say a 15 degree cant have on point of impact? Anyone know of any data? I would expect that the sight height above the bore would also effect this...

Sighter shots in standing and kneeling

Well I'm not a pro, however we just finished a postal "US Army Postal" & they allowed sighters in all 3 positions. In my mind, the different positions may cause slightly different sight adjustments most likely due to shooter torques on the gun, pressure points, flex in the stock etc. I...
