Re: I Need Advice on Improving Air Pistol Precision
Well, since you won't be operating heavy machinery...... I think dry firing against a blank wall will show some results. First, it will build your stamina. Second, you can work on your trigger pull, which seems to be your main problem. Third, you seem to be trying to "ambush" the bull as i...

A small tip. When filling, go a little over (say 3100 PSI). The cylinder will cool to around 2900PSI.

One more thing. At most matches, no one will check or care. You'll soon find out which those are.

Relax and have fun. As you say, you're going for the experience. You may have the opportunity to get a little coaching from top shooters. Offers of beer will work wonders.

Re: Cylinder date
It means that if you try to shoot a match after May 2028 with that cylinder, a judge will order a bailiff to whack your peepee.

Re: New shooters - 1 hand or 2?
" They would wet their pants if they ever saw a bullseye match with people shooting .45 hardball one handed at 50 yards." I was at the Desert Midwinter in Phoenix one year. A couple of "spray and pray" guys wandered over to see what was going on. They were standing behind a USAMU...

Re: I Need Advice on Improving Air Pistol Precision
You may think I'm kidding, but a shot or two of booze before you start may give you surprising results. I've posted this before, but I was shooting next to a Russian neuro-surgeon; he told me it was common practice for them to have a little vodka before a brain operation to reduce "essential tr...

Don't bother fooling around with a CF pistol. Use a well-tweaked .45 and put ALL your effort into it. (I like good ol' Colt.)

Re: Some guidance please
Forget all those crap APs. They will do nothing but hinder you. You have a budget that will allow something very fine if you spend it right. First: Pardini K58, Walther LPM1, FWB 65, 80, 90. A can of pellets and you're ready to go...no additional expenses. Any are capable of World Class scores. Seco...

It would be helpful if you included your location. Perhaps he observed you holding your mouth right. Without that, nothing else matters. https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.vHXjWgRHJSZYKmigi_zywAHaFl?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain Just kidding. Ramon gave you the right answer. It's not whether you have ability, ...

Re: How do you stop beginners from obsessing over the sub 6 hold?
I recall a method occasionally used while I was a Marine.
A sharp slap to the back of the head, and "SNAP OUT OF YOUR CHEAP SHIT!", screamed into the ear seemed effective to the dense.

For a while, our host here was refusing to sell long barreled APs to newbies. I haven't seen anything about that lately.
Why don't you call and talk to him. I bet he'll sell you a Steyr.

Re: Toz 35 Firing Pin Spring Length
A good replacement spring for a Tos 35 firing pin spring is a S&W M14 rebound spring either 14 or 15 lb. Yeah but.....I have both used and sold these. The TOZ is kind of a sloppy build, so the necessary spring length can vary. Sometimes I use a cut-off on my Dremel to shorten a spring about a c...

Marine Corps Birthday
In fond memory of my friend Marine Bandsman Timothy Green who was fired from his side job as an organist in a Southern Baptist church
for playing drinking songs instead of hymns. It took them a while to figure it out.
God rest him merrily, gentlemen!

Not to be nit-picky, but I've shot much smaller 30 shot groups with RWS Basic with an LP1.
