My barrel is 0.312, the expander plug is 0.314, and now I'm using 0.312 bullets. I think it's ok, I must only check the expander plug's lenght, I think it's too short.

Be careful, Fiocchi's bullets don't have the "pip", are a perfect cylinder.
Seating bullets deeper in the case increase the pressure. Now it seems that the cartridges in the picture are less crimped than before.

If you have a friend that owns a press, I would crimp a little bit more.
Next week I'll try to reload my cartridges seating bullets flush and testing the difference at chronograph, between old and new cartridges.

David, this is what I'm asking myself: 1) we all know that factory cartridges have the bullets seated flush with a medium-heavy roll crimp; 2) we know also (thanks to julioalperi...) that the average cartridge length is 23.15 mm (for Fiocchi, but I think that other brands have the same length); 3) C...

Cartridge Overall Lenght equal to Case Overall Lenght (considering the roll crimp)? I'm a little bit confused...

If you have a caliper near your bench, could you please measure the COL? Thanks!
By the way, this afternoon i've shot 25 Magtech, I've made a nice group, except a 7, but the barrel was very very dirty (lead from the chamber to the muzzle...), maybe the bullet's diameter don't match with my Pardini.

I don't think so, not all wadcutters bullets have the nose, especially Fiocchi's.

I know that Fiocchi's cartridges are seated flush or a bit below, and have a heavy roll crimp, I use always at the range...
Now I must understand why in the reloading manuals there are seating dephts (for wadcutter bullets) longer than cases...

I don't think that the lead protruding the case could be a problem. In the C.I.P. rules we read: L3 (max. overall case lenght): 23.27 mm. L6 (max. cartridge overall lenght): 25.40 mm. If you seat at 23.50 mm. (Fiocchi's reloading manual for 100 gr. LHBWC) or 24.60 mm. (Lapua reloading data for 98 gr...

I think you must buy a cheap single stage press (and dies...). You can't shoot .32 without it (but it depends on your wallet...)!

My cartridges are the same in your pictures, and I haven't any jam, they group quite well, but I have a Pardini HP new.
What is the powder, load and primer?
P.S. I think your cartridges need a little more roll crimp.
Try this before working on springs...

I don't like CBC cases, I think they're too hard.
I normally use Fiocchi's cases which I find softer, but I'm in Italy.
The OAL depends from the bullet, with Fiocchi's I use 23.5 mm, with Lapua you must seat at 24.6 mm.

The Lee expander plug is for 0.310 - 0.312 bullets, the RCBS is for 0.314 and I think is long enough.
I think also that most of the seater plugs doesn't work very well with wadcutters bullets.

Interesting ... as I thought, not everyone uses the roll crimp.

jbshooter: do you think that moving the cartridge into the sizing die does not stress the bullet? Maybe it acts as a factory crimp?

Mister G: in Italy I bought 98 grain .314 Hornady HBWC bullets, cod. 10038, packs of 400.
