Re: Scaled targets for smallbore rilfle training?

Download and install the SCATT software (it's free) and use it's Tools option to select the target you want, define the distance you shoot over and it will print a scaled target for you.

Re: Gap size between Front and Rear aperture

Download the SCATT software and print out a new target to match the distance and match you are intending to shoot so you can properly set your ring and aperture sizes (assuming you are going to shoot beyond your kitchen!)

Re: Gap size between Front and Rear aperture

Simply put it is whatever works for you and the conditions in which you shoot. I have relativley small gaps all round because I have difficulty percieving how central the apertures are in relation to each other if the gaps are too big - ie my front ring varies from 3.0 to 3.2mm depending on lighting...

Re: The last 1 second.....

OK, so now I am relaxing more and can now see a definitive heart beat trace (effectively a figure of 8 down on the vertical and up on the 7-8 o'clock to 1-2 o'clock. Sometimes I see it come down on the vertical, do a loop/circle out to the left (bottom half of the figure 8 then proceed to complete t...

L = Trace Length? Mine average around 85 - I guess I have some way to go :)

Re: The last 1 second.....

Guys, great advice - thank you very much - just one question - what is the "L" value? My F value is 40 and I seem to produce the same results in live fire as I do in SCATT training BUT in live fire I tend to 'seek' a new NPA for each target face. I hadn't actually thought to do it per shot...

Re: The last 1 second.....

Yes I have it set to 40. Here are a range of samples (I can't find the one I popped off into the 8 ring - I might have deleted it in disgust.....)

The last 1 second.....

OK I have been shooting SB for a couple of months now and done a lot of shooting with the SCATT. All the SCATT results tell me (Shift and Co-ordination Graphs) that I should be releasing the shot ~1 second earlier than I am. Given, on the whole, I am holding inside the 10 and my POI could actually b...

FWB 2700 Super Match front sight

Hi,

What are the specs on the FWB 2700 front sight - ie is it an 18mm or 22mm tunnel and what is the size of the ring that comes default? (I want to install a variable aperture ring as the default ring size is too large for me)

Cheers

Re: Matching Ammo to Rifle Question

OK, that's going to require a special trip away for me (500km to the only/nearest location for that type of testing). Locally I can buy bricks or cases of 22LR of whatever type/brand the shop has in stock (only 1 shop in town and no, they will not special order unless I choose to buy a case of every...

Matching Ammo to Rifle Question

So I have my own rifle and started to shoot 'reasonable' 50m prone scores (better than 190 out of 200 with whatever ammo I have to hand on an open range). So I hear that it is important to match ammo to barrel but at what level do I need to be to gain anything from this? ie would it get my 190's and...

Re: Shooting a Rifle in?

No, the manual is rather sparse in that regard. It has a 1 liner at the top of a page on 'cleaning' saying a major clean should be done every 500-1000 shots then proceeeds to a paragraph on how to clean after every shoot. So no idea what a 'major clean' involves :) There is also a 1 liner that says ...

Shooting a Rifle in?

I'm new to smallbore (I shoot fullbore). Have a new FWB 2700 - is there a need for any shooting in of the barrel or anything special one needs to do with a brand new rifle?

Cheers

The ONLY concern with the level of noise on the range is whether or not the RO can be heard.

Re: Anti-pulse slings - do they work?

The sling wraps around the front of the wrist to the handstop. Think about it - where do doctors take your pulse from and why? If the sling is really tight not only can you see the pulse through the wrist in the sight but you can feel it as well. I have elimiated all pulse from the upper arm in my f...

As a fullbore shooter this is a common problem. Is the problem reflected light in the front tunnel or is it that the target itself is so bright it is 'swamping' the front ring or something else? Personally I prefer to use a polariser rather than a coloured filter to control the amount of light getti...

I knew my GoPro camera would come in useful one day :) Regarding the speed graph, I cannot see a pulse. I see reasonably regular peaks and troughs at roughly 0.1 second intervals (I don't think my heart is beating at 600bmp) ranging in speed from very low (maybe 5mm/sec) up to 180mm/sec (setup as 50...

Yeah - thats where using a 5/5.1 scoring ring system doesn't seem to gel well with the graphs and other advanced features. For example, my trace shows I hold inside the 5 ring 100% of the time (there is no trace outside the 5 ring) but the 10a options shows only 62%. On the coordination and other gr...
