In my view you buy 'as is' when buying second hand. I think the original seller was generous to offer to give you your money back but since you chose to send it back I think you should also wear the cost of the original shipping. BUT that is just my personal opinion. Does this make the person 'disho...

Hey James,

I'd be interested in staying in touch re progress with your FAS. I'm picking mine up second hand but can't take possession for a couple of months (but I get to use it every Sunday and am slowly learning the ins and outs)

Cheers

The gunsmiths report was that all the parts were in perfectly good working order. They put 800 rounds through without a misfire. As I don't posess the pistol I only have access to it on the club Sunday shoots and then that is limited to the time it takes to complete the mornings event. (Still 6 week...

What's Chicken Finger? Is it when you just "can't" press that trigger? In archery we called it "target panic". I'd stop shooting for score for a while, put your targets in backward (so they are blank) and do lots of Dry firing exercises. ie make the score less important than your...

I am no expert but had the same problem with the FAS 602 I have been shooting. Solution has been to use 'clean' ammo (ammo with no wax at all). The consensus of opinion after lots of trial and error and inspections (not by me but more experienced folk) was that as the ammo was chambering a small amo...

Well the clean ammo seems to be the key for the FAS602. Cleaned up 2 boxes (rubbed in a towel) and not a single misfire (and my best ever score - probably because worrying about misfires is not conducive to good shooting). All I need to do now is learn how to break the pistol down and clean it. I mi...

Visualisation

What do shooters understand by the term visualisation? Is it getting an actual mental picture of each step/stage (ie like watching/replaying a movie of what you actually/should see) or is it just running through a mental checklist? If it is the former, can someone suggest some exercises/references t...

Given the pistol was sent to him for this specific issue one would imagine that he tested/looked at each item that could affect it!

The pistol is just back from the Gunsmith - no mechanical issues found.

Wouldn't length of ammo cause a feed/chambering problem? All the ammo that I have tried feeds - its just that the firing pin doesn't strike hard enough. Note that as a probationary shooter I am restricted to club ammo or ammo that others might have on hand so for the next 3-4 months (until I get lic...

How to remove 'wax' from 22LR ammo

I have a FAS602 and it is very picky when it comes to ammo. (Aren't all FAS's - so I have been told). Federal seems to work just fine as did a new batch of CCI. An old batch of CCI failed on the first shot as did a brand called Geko. Winchester T22 and PMC Target 22 also failed. The one thing in com...

Maybe for American Football but other football codes like those played in civilized countries (humorous jibe) the rules of the sport are changed to reduce injury and harm to players rather than adding more protective layers to the players. Re the speedo suite - I don't know if they are banned - they...

So based on my experience I would have to say the worst gun is a FAS and the next worse is a Morini..... Your experience is based on observation ov a mere three guns. The poll includes 34 entries.... May I state your base for judgement is limited? No - more than 3 guns were actually used at the com...

With all due respect David. I suggest that you go to your local smallbore range and ask if you can have a go at 50m 3P shooting (don't just fire a few shots, do the whole thing). When you have done this (without special clothing) then come back and comment. Thats not actually going to prove anythin...

I wonder how many archers would argue that they need similar support? 144 compeditive shots a day, 288 in a 2 day event (consecutive days) with gear that can weigh a few kilos and holding upward of 20-25 kg strain across the back at full draw! If you aren't fit or don't have the technique right then...

I still don't get the need for special clothing. If it is there to help support the weight of the rifle because of possible poor technique/posture/overuse then why not simply allow the rifle to be supported on a stand? The specs for a piece of dowel are quite simple....... Why do the prone shooters ...
