I am a big fan of the Marvel Precision. The big issue for me has been the magazines. The Metalform ones dont work very well and I have heard without a lot of tuning the poly ones can also be problematic. The new GSG ones tend to work the best especially if you can get in the habit of pulling back t...

Points are clearly a reflection of exercising the fundamentals, no luck is involved. The score you shoot IS a direct reflection of applying (or not applying) the fundamentals. If it is good enough or not to get you leg points is another story. Maybe luck is not the best description but is is out of...

Practice enough to know your gun and load. Don't sweat over being able to shoot a particular score. Getting distinguished involves a little bit of luck as well as shooting good. No particular score is required to get leg points - you just have to shoot better than the other non distinguished shooter...

In order to work a compensator needs loads that are a lot more powerful than are normally used in Bullseye.

I wouldn't have anybody that I didn't know personally or was not recommended by someone I know do the work you are describing. The 1911 trigger needs be be done by someone who understands it well and a frame mount requires drilling and tapping 10 (I think) small holes in the thin part of the dust co...

Some are better quality than others and some have variable sized dots and maybe even different colored dots but they all do the same thing and work the same way. So unless something is wrong with it your BSA will serve you just as well as a new more expensive one.

Do you mean getting a dot that is better than the BSA that came on your Ruger? If so it won't help at all unless there is something wrong with yours.

I see a lot of guys keeping a logbook at the big matches. If you shoot in a league it is done for you. Some guys even keep a diary of their practices. The only thing I do is keep my copies of match results although I rarely look at them.

Welcome to the forum. There has been some talk on the Bullseye Forum about the Springfield Armory Range Officer being a good choice as a ready to go .45. It is priced about $750 which is not bad if it will get you started. There has been endless debate about buying a good .45 right away because if y...

I found 2 different problems with the polarizers: 1. The lens can rotate within it's ring. It is held in by an o-ring. Pry out the o-ring and use a drop of nail polish, or super glue to glue it in place. This is very tiny work. 2. The lens ring will rotate while firing due to recoil. A short sectio...
