Sporter Class

Try a sporter class rifle. The Daisy 853 or 888 are great shooting rifles. http://www.thecmp.org/airrifles.htm Use it to find out your interest level. If you get hooked you can upgrade from there. There will always be a buyer for your sporter class gun. If you are concerned about iron sights and nee...

Everything is relative

I own a Walther LP300. The Trigger is wonderful in my opinion. My Daisy 747 is pretty good as well. So was my Tau-7, IZH-41, Skannaker and my FAS AP609. This being said, I have squeezed triggers on mostly .22 bullseye guns. On those you can feel creep. I get a kick out of hearing people talk about c...

Gun Box

I'd leave the gun box at home. I used to take a small pocket scope from Brookstone to make myself sick :)

My AP609 was repaired by Tim at Mac-1

I contacted Randy and received the following: I have fixed a 609 but it was a pain and very time consuming because it was an early one and required modification of the receiver to accept the new valve seal and parts. It had to be sent back to the factory and the whole process took 15 months. The mod...

If you're trying to improve your .45 scores, get a .22 conversion for your 1911. Then you're shooting the same user interface for both matches. Better get a pair of matched 1911's and set one up for .22 and one for .45. By matched, I mean trigger job by the same gunsmith so they feel the same. Gene ...

Profits???

Boy, when I was running the program in the '70's I was always digging into my own pocket or hitting the Jaycees up for bucks. I sure don't know how they made a profit. You're right about the camera's. Most service organizations have to work hard to get free publicity. It isn't easy to get the LA tim...

Daisy/Jaycees -- Still a Partnership?

Daisy still refers to it as a joint project, but the US Jaycee Web only refers to it in a historical context. I'm planning on aproaching the local Jaycee chapter to run the project, but would hate to find out that it's no longer considered politically correct or some such nonsense. Gene Jenkins Keys...

Fred:
He wouldn't be your brother in law, would he? :)

I tried calling him this morning, but I guess he took Saturday off. Being retired, they're all Saturdays, so I'll call him again the Saturday after tomorrow.

Thanks for the refural.

FAS AP609 in need of repair

I think I've blown a gasket on my air pistol (FAS AP609) and am advised by Pilkington Competition that they don't work on this model. Anybody know a gunsmith that is familiar with this gun?

Thanks,

I had put the brand and model in the subject, thinking it woudl be in the listing. Instead it put N4JEE.

It's a FAS AP609.

Yes, I cocked it first. Then thinking that maybe it was the other way around, it tried it without cocking. Leaks both ways.

N4JEE

My air pistol has been in storage for the last couple of years while we relocated to our retirement home in Florida. Yesterday I took it out to shoot. I loaded the air reservoir, screwed it on the gun and the air immediately leaked out the barrel. I'm guessing that an O-ring has dried out and cracke...
