Re: Help with Distinguished Revolver under NRA rule 3.1.4
Best thing is to send your question to Damien Orsinger at NRA Competitions. He'll probably forward it to Ken Boyd, the Chief Referee.

Re: Shooting glasses recommendation?
Knobloch! Get the centering device, and make sure your prescription is adjusted for both astigmatism and seeing the front sight clearly. See Norman Wong's article at http://www.starreloaders.com/edhall/nwo ... guide.html and make sure your optometrist sees it, too.

Re: Camp Perry
It doesn't make sense to go there for the hot humid weather just to shoot a little fun Air Pistol. At least sign up for the .22 matches if you don't have the big guns. +1 Just an FYI you can't shoot an electronic trigger for any of the 22 matches. Since when? Rule 3.4 says ".22 caliber Pistol ...

Re: Camp Perry
Who runs camp perry? The Ohio National Guard; Camp Perry, the remaining forty-six (46) weeks of the year is an Ohio National Guard training facility. Does that mean CMP and NRA has nothing to do with each other? No; 36 U.S. Code § 40725 - National Matches and small-arms firing school is the legal b...

Re: Camp Perry
IIRC, air pistol at Camp Perry is available every day at the CMP airgun range. It's not part of the NRA National Matches; it is unsquadded, and you enter and fire when it's convenient for you.

Re: Eley Test Fire
I took two (2) Hammerli 208s and a Hammerli 280 to the Customer Range in Birmingham a few years back. Seventeen lots of TENEX were available to test. I was able to find a lot that consistently shot ~0.9 inches at 50 meters for each pistol. There was zero correlation between what lot performed well i...

Re: Electronic target question
Hi Rutty, thank you once again. If I understand your sentence: Remember that you have the paper or rubber roll and or the target mask that will generate sound on penetration. the sound for the sensors is generated by the pellet impact on the paper and not by the shock-wave. Correct? Kindest regards...

Re: NRA prone match questions and help understanding rules
what i can gather from the rule book... what's supposed to be the difference in rule 3.1 "the rifle" with a trigger requirement and 3.2 "any rifle"? are there individual match rules that require this difference? and then on 3.3 the light rifle has a less trigger at 2lbs. are the...

Re: BE iron sights, red dot
I have a Buckmark with a full length weaver rail. But I am confused about which BE competitions allow and dont allow red dots sights. I know I can find NRA and International rule books on line as PDFs but slogging through them until I can order them direct is a real drag. So I thought I would post ...

Don't worry about stainless. My preference if the slide needs fitting is Accu-Rails, and slide mount for the red dot sight. Some folks prefer frame mounts.

Will be having a good look at those forums when get chance. Just remember Kevin, not a hope in Hades of you shooting it in the UK :-( Prior to his untimely passing, Bert Brookes (Range Officer at the Eley Customer Range) traveled with me and some other friends to the Nationals at Camp Perry, Ohio a...

Re: The future of pistol at Camp Perry
It is feasible to have the range split in half. 50% long line and 50% short line. When done shooting the NMC slow fire, shooters move equipment laterally to the sustained fire line. So if you were assigned to position 13, you would shoot initially at 13L then move to 13S. . Dan In all the years I s...

Re: Hammerli 208 "Crisp" Trigger?
Do you have a 208s or straight 208?
Check your manual; IIRC, the Hammerli 208s manual says the trigger must have some creep. Not so for the 208 International.

Ammunition for Revolver
Assuming you're planning to shoot a revolver for NRA/ISSF Center Fire matches- a. get a box of Federal GM38A. If you're revolver won't shoot well with that load, it probably needs work. Don't rest on the barrel, let it float freely. b. I've gotten about the same results with WST as with Bullseye. c....

Revolvers in NRA Conventional Pistol
I'm not a competitor, I just like to shoot and I've picked up a couple of really nice wheelguns lately just for fun. My question is, is the difference in score due to better inherent accuracy or better ergonomics for semiautos? Or is there really a difference at all? Could the difference between th...

Re: Revolvers Still in Use for Bullseye
What is the story with revolvers use in Bullseye? Anyone of you using them? Thanks, bernie I worked on Range 4 this year at Camp Perry; I saw maybe three competitors shooting revolvers on Friday/Center Fire day. I don't recall any on Thursday or Saturday. Compare the winning CF NMC course score (29...
