Re: Hammerli 208 question
Hey guys, I am in the process of selecting a new rimfire pistol for Bullseye competitions. Recently, I stumbled upon a deal on Hammerli 208 International with safety for $900. Based on the pictures and description the gun is in excellent condition, tight fit and very clean bore. However, there are ...

Re: Would would it take to make 1911 competitive
Has anyone turned their Springfield Mil-Spec into a decent bullseye pistol, and if so how much do you figure you've put into it. Thanks ..... Chris David Santurri in Massachusetts has a good reputation. He turned my SA MIL-SPEC into a great pistol. It's been twenty years so I can't comment on prici...

Re: US Dealer or Low Cost Import
Scott (and others) support their customers tangibly (with part availability, providing repair service), as well as intangibly (hosting this bulletin board, traveling to Austria to receive factory training). All this costs real money. After he purchases inventory, he doesn't get a refund if the value...

Re: Tenex Pistol
Does anyone use or has tried Tenex Pistol, with the round nose rather than the EPS, in their rifle? I'm just interested if anyone has found an advantage with it. Kevin Nevius - have you tried these in your 1.5 degree lead chamber? I plan on buying some in the next few weeks when my local dealer reo...

Re: Pistol from France to USA?
I would like to buy a pistol from a shop in France, and get it to the USA. Is there any way this can be done? Third party intermediary? Shop to shop? Buy as a tourist? Any help would be appreciated. It usually is not a big deal. You have to submit ATF Form 6 to ATF several months in advance. That g...

Re: Need a shooter's Optician
Get a copy of Dr Norman Wong's guide for optometrists at http://www.starreloaders.com/edhall/nwongmain/eyeguide.html Your regular optometrist should be able to sort it out. Basically, it's your distant vision prescription with an additional 0.5 to 0.75 plus diopter correction. Bifocals and iron sigh...

Re: Cheaper .45 alternatives
Does anyone know why this hasn't been tried? I can think of a couple of reasons- a. Inertia in the business. There is a thriving cottage industry devoted to building accurate pistols on the 1911 platform. b. Who has the resources to invest in a new platform? c. How would it operate? A recoil operat...

Re: Cheaper .45 alternatives
Ok, so I've spent some time with ISSF and love the grip fundamentals versus traditional high grips. Is there a way to translate these fundamentals to a forty five that isn't a 1911? Or is the recoil just too severe to handle the broken (but firm!) wrist in ISSF rapid fire, FP and AP? I realize that...

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
It indicates that your load is very low pressure and the case isn't expanding enough to make a tight seal in the chamber. Gas is leaking.cnnhead wrote:All fired cases are heavily charred on one side (12 o'clock). Does it indicate anything?

Re: .45 "Marine Load"
I came across the article about the famous .45 Marine Load and decided to replicate one. I don't have Winchester brass at hand so I used brand new GECO cases primed with CCI300 primers and this resulted in such a cartridge: COL: 1.200" projectile: Nosler 185gr JHP CC powder: VV N310 4,1gr case...

Re: Rifle guy with some questions
Planned to do some dry fire practice beforehand. Is it ok to dry fire my Buckmark and Gold Match II? And what diameter bull should I use at 10m for said dry fire practice? Check the owner manual on dry firing the Buckmark; should be no problem with the Kimber. Use a 10 Meter Air Pistol target if yo...

Re: Pardini Conversion Units
SK pistol match has v0 of 281m/s, lapua pistol king has v0 of 270m/s and lapua OSP has v0 of 265m/s (120mm barrel length). I believe this same ammunition would have v0 of 310-330m/s if fired from 660mm barrel. I doubt any standard velocity ammunition would reach 330m/s from pistol, or has anyone me...

Hello Friends, I am from India and I will be moving to US for couple of years because of my job assignments. I have few questions. 1. While purchasing a new FWB 700 / 800 Compressed Air Riles do we pay import duty in US ? what is the % rate now a days? 2. If I bring in my old Air rile (FWB 700) alo...

Thanks Dave. Why should I be grateful that my P240 is not marked with an importer markings?????[/quote]
No import mark probably indicates it was privately imported.
