Re: Well, isn't that special!
As an additional tongue-in-cheek remark: I would be all in favour of a licensing of airguns also for England and Wales (following the bad Scottish example, from a legislation enacted when Alba was still under the scourge of the Sassenachs... that will hopefully soon change after Brexit), and I would...

Re: "Pistol Shooting" by MEC book needed
For your information, the letter rate from Germany to Norway is 7,00 Euros (501 grams to 1000 grams) and 17,00 Euros (1001 grams to 2000 grams). The economy books rate is 6,00 resp. 12,00 Euros. Only DHL shipping to Norway from MEC. Because we're not in EU I think Wrong. What I quoted is the applic...

Re: Well, isn't that special!
Restrictive gun laws in much of the English-speaking world hasn't diminished essential liberties in any of those countries. More precisely speaking - as a jurist with some background in administrative and constitutional law - I would say that a) a grave diminishment of essential liberties and b) st...

Re: Steyr mgazine
I agree that the extension of an existing magazine from 5 to 6 shots, via a new CNC production part or maybe via a 3-D-printer, is "creative". It creates something new that did not exist before, at least not in the class of high-quality precise match air pistols. Is it also "progressi...

Re: "Pistol Shooting" by MEC book needed
Mee too. I believe 40 EUR for the book, 35 EUR for shipping. Unfortunately I couldn't find any other way of obtaining the book here in Norway. For your information, the letter rate from Germany to Norway is 7,00 Euros (501 grams to 1000 grams) and 17,00 Euros (1001 grams to 2000 grams). The economy...

Re: Steyr mgazine
Indeed, David, I was astray. I thought that the _quoted_ content was the original one, and that the older posting above it, had lateron been edited. That is a very common occurence on the 'Net in all web-based fora. Quotes frequently still document a fossilised older version, while the writer has al...

Nobody has even STARTED to insult you, Jack1, but it might be tempting... 1. What does the configuration of a multiple-shot air pistol have to do with Paris airport transfers, pray? 2. If you mention Paris without recognizable reason, answering you in Parisian is NOT an insult, but befitting. 3. ISS...

Re: New discipline on the Olympics?
Your initial incorrect assertion above was: "federations have been too gender biased to promote the sport with women by locking them out of even non-Olympic competition."
You have now rectified it in your response.
Thank you kindly for your awareness. :)

Re: New discipline on the Olympics?
50m pistol lost out because the ISSF and federations have been too gender biased to promote the sport with women by locking them out of even non-Olympic competition. Huh? I do not know about your neck of the woods, but my national federation has opened 50 metres pistol and rapid fire pistol for wom...

Re: Hope Match Concludes With Two Podium Finishes for USA
From what I could see on the Czech (yet unofficial) results website, Katelyn Abeln in junior women's sport pistol (25 metres pistol) scored 9th and not 29th. P.S.: You got it right on your Facebook wall though. ;-) http://hopes.hyperlink.cz/Hop17/Results2017/F000000IA2705171305.1.SP.0.001.Sius.pdf A...

Re: Spare parts for Hämmerli 208 in Europe
Judith is a respected shooter here, but her prices are ABSURDLY high. If you realize that you can always get a Hämmerli 208 here for a sum between 150 € (well used) and 250 € (very little used, excellent), and plenty of them, then you will simply buy a used or damaged gun and cannibalize it. Re: Need Input from Walther SSP Owners
I am afraid we might be hijacking Sixty Lion's post and his interest... anyhow he appears to reside outside New York City, where the former "Target Pistol Licence" was totally (!) abolished, an abuse hat the courts astonishingly upheld. Also, the NYSRPA has fought a number of lawsuits (wit...

Re: Need Input from Walther SSP Owners
Post script: In his rather good and fairly legible (although - as sadly common in US law school journals - hideously over-footnoted) article, https://nysrpa.org/files/SAFE/Halbrook-SAFE-Review.pdf my legal colleague Stephen Halbrook did not even once mention the target pistol issue. He concentrated ...

- Potentially Eley and Meyton will do a sponsorship deal and give them some of the targets (effectively a hefty discount, buy-20-get-20-free) on the basis that there aren't many Meytons in the UK (dominated by Sius and Megalink. The only places I've shot Meyton are Hannover and Gibraltar) It is alw...

The 25m range at Lord Roberts Centre is section 5 approved. All of the 10m and 50m targets at Lord Roberts are already electronic. It's just that they are getting a bit old now and could do with replacement. Thank you for the welcome additional information. Prices for electronic targets vary immens...

This old thread deserves a revitalization, I feel. 1. Because its contents are on one hand so important, and so nicely condensed. Especially the unique historical conspect offered by David Levene is invaluable, because there is no way it can be gleaned from the accessible online sources on the Web (...
