The age frame was pre-set by the IOC. Within the four years, cohorts of two years were formed in most sports diciplines, with the sole exceptions of a one-year cohort for football, women's artistic gymnastics and (women's) rhythmic gymnastics. See my AIBA link above. I agree that such necessarily fi...

Does anyone happen to know the age restrictions with shooting in the games? I believe the general age restriction is 14-18 but remember reading somewhere that for shooting it was 17-18 (must be born in 92 or 93 I believe). Anyone have info on this? Must be born between 1.1.1992 and 31.12.1993. Alex...

you are obviously very passionate about something to do with the Youth Olympic Games - which particular windmill/s are you tilting at? The windmill - and it might very well be one, I will have to ascertain whether there is perchance a short stocky chap riding on a donkey at my side :-) - is the one...

...While the nominal decision indeed did rest with the IOC, in practice its Executive Committee in December 2008 - around the 15th or 18th - acted upon the recommendation or suggestion of the international federations, such as the ISSF and these recommendations would have been based on the host bid...

The latter would have been the most unlikely of all cases. While the nominal decision indeed did rest with the IOC, in practice its Executive Committee in December 2008 - around the 15th or 18th - acted upon the recommendation or suggestion of the international federations, such as the ISSF. re 5-shot 10m pistol - how many countries shoot this event; whereas most shoot 10m pistol and rifle This is a very good argument, Spencer, if you look at it only from the established shooter's viewpoint. But exactly this is - IMHO - the weak point. The very intent and idea of the Youth Olymopic Gam...

Proper, and long time, testing prior to shipment to the market, is an important part of a gun manufacturers homework, in my opinion. This is very true, and it should be true for all products, not just for firearms. Unfortunately, in our days of rampant wannabe-capitalism, all products (and not just...

Re: I find the Tesro superior to the MG2
They must not. The seller is obliged to deliver fault-free merchandise (and so was the producer obliged towards the retail seller).jipe wrote:The problem is for those who bought version TS22-1 and TS22-1 and must pay about 50% of the price of their pistol to have the original design flaws fixed.

Tesro, boutique and quasi-innovative company is charging their customers for the “updates” to their pistol unlike MG. Maybe, and that is not very nice, I agree with you. Nevertheless, Tesro is considered a serious producer by shooters here, sells well, and enjoys a high reputation. Neither of the t...

Here, Morini Guns are not taken serious anymore as a viable choice for *anything*. Do you mean Morini = http://www.morini.ch/ or Matchguns = http://www.matchguns.com/ ??? I meant Morini and Matchguns semi-automatic pistols. The air pistols on the other hand are quite esteemed. Sorry for having been...

I do think there's a serious disconnect between the small clubs on the ground and the ISSF top table (and yes, I know that's quite a gap, and I know that the member federation NGBs are in between and have responsibilities here, and I know there's a fair few small clubs in the 154 countries in ISSF,...

It is easy to blame the ISSF, but perhaps the 'problem' is much closer to home. I agree with Spencer. The options that ISSF rules allow, are not even fully used on grass roots level, and national federations have a very big leeway in suitably adapting ISSF rules on the national or regional level, i...

They have worked very hard and diligently over years to build up a thoroughly bad reputation, and they have deserve...
