..... should the judge hang the weight in the centre of the curve or the mid-point of the trigger length. I estimated a 200-300g difference between the two adjustments. In the new rules, my interpretation is that the centre of the curve is the point to rest the trigger weight bar. Indeed, for pract...

Actually you have to be careful about those grooves. The ones on Hammerli AP40 triggers is not located at the "centre of the trigger curve" and thus is not the legal point for testing the trigger. I have had AP40 triggers fail at the Canadian Nationals because the competitor assumed that H...

I had a similar experience with a Model 52 frame weight. No communications, but the package appeared and fit perfectly.

I suspect he spends more time in the shop than on the computer. Once you understand his style, there are no worries.

Re: Rant - how big and how close should a target be !!!

It just amazes me that people send a man size target down range 10 feet and blast away at it and miss the damn thing. Obviously, you have never seen a police gunfight. ,,, Doesn't even have to be a gunfight, we rent out range out to Brinks for training, and once to the RCMP (ABSOLUTELY NEVER AGAIN!...

Questions

I have sent a PM to Kate, but others may be interested. I have read through the schedule and match bulletin and have a couple of questions. Is there any way to camp at the range in Calgary? The hotel rates seem a little steep and I have to drive in if I come anyway. There is really no camping on the...

Terrific! We are open to as many as want to come to the matches. In fact, we need at least one to serve as observer for the Mayleigh Cup match!

I'll be the guy checking your guns.

Why not directly contact the Walther parts department. They have been very helpful to me in the past.

Brian, looks like they have 're-created' the old Dan Wesson design. If you want it see if they will sell you the .38 parts, get a Model 16 - even one of the later versions, and we can build it!

The Chiappa design could with a proper grip (and probably the 5 inch barrel) yield a revolver with the boreline just passing above the web of the hand and still being able to fit into the ISSF box. Note that a S&W M14 usually has the bore about 1.5 to 2.0 cm above the web and this will result in...

Actually with a careful manufacturing of a target grip, it would indeed be legal - as long as all the other characteristics are appropriate.

CANADIAN NATIONAL PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIPS - ISSF AND BULLSEYE

Please pardon the double posting. The Canadian National Pistol Championships are being held from July 30th to August 7th in Calgary, Alberta. For the first time the ISSF matches will be shot on electronic targets. The 2700 match will, however, be fired on traditional paper targets. The full schedule...

S&W M52 weights - Don Weber still in business?

I've just bought my THIRD Smith model 52 (love-hate relationship - yeah!) but will need a frame weight. I found Don Weber's website, but did not get a response on email. Anyone know if he is still in business? His price was much more reasonable than the "collector" grade originals. Anyone ...

I built a "short heavy" from one of the old 38 special "kit" barrels and had to go through a lot of springs before getting it to consistently work. The gun is still getting broken in with only a few hundred rounds through it and I had to standardize on 3.2 bullseye behind a 148gr...

I'm one of those who don't bother to clean a 22. It does more harm than any possible good. Rules given to me around the time I started 36 years ago were: 1) don't clean a pistol until it stops functioning. 2) NEVER start a match with a clean gun. . . . . . Dr Jim It sounds to me, Dr. Jim, that whoe...
