Re: Yet another cleaning thread
If all Benelli problems can be a traced to a dirty chamber maybe they need to revisit their chamber design.

Re: Pelican Case Locks
Padlocks often get ripped off Pelican cases, the plastic just gives way and the metal 'reinforcement' does little. Padlocks just stick out too far and get caught on things, or are easily crowbarred off. They're pretty useless really https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/13-A...

Re: Suggestions for Airline Rifle Cases
Two questions: Why do people fit their guns to the cases so they're upside down when carried by the handle, resting on the sights? Don't people take the sights off for transport? I know someone who trained for years, went to the Commonwealth Games and crashed out because his rearsight was damaged an...

Re: .22 Chamber Brush Problem
Not to rain on your parade but: Stuffing a brush into a chamber then backing it out is bad for the brush and the chamber, the bristles buckle over, stress the bristle too far and the tip grinds into the chamber surface, plus dumping broken bristles here and there. Some people with tight chambers, FW...

Re: Suggestions for Airline Pistol Cases
On pelicans if you use a padlock they routinely get torn off in baggage handling - you'll need their lifetime warranty.
It helps to tape them down.

Hard to say really, looks like its for a Colt Python based on the pin holes, wood looks like goncalo alves.

Re: Yet another cleaning thread
Proper cleaning should cause no real wear, some .22 barrels are fairly soft and will wear out. Ed's Red works pretty well for me - Scrub with well soaked bronze brush and use well coated patch to swab out. - Run soaked patch through - Leave for a few days - Repeat When finished push one loose fittin...

Re: Pardini SP - recoil weights stuck
Smack it on the front with a mallet - on the barrel not the shroud. The CTE of Al is higher than steel (and tungsten), gentle warming (well below the softening temp of the loctite which holds the barrel in - 200C to be safe? - not sure about the epoxy paint) and a knock might help, there is no reaso...

If you use image 2 you will get a mirage between the top of the sight and the bottom of the black so never really know where you are.

Re: Pardin SP 22 VS SP Rapid Fire
If you shoot rapid fire get the rapid fire. The benefit is all in the 4s series. Putting the SP barrel on a RF slide the recoil is noticeably greater - putting the barrels side by side I can't see any difference. On the rapid fire there is a smudge of powder residue on the bolt near the chamber, it ...

Re: Pardini SP or Hammerli 280
The Pardini and Hammerli largely differ in the grip angle which is radically different.
Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a 280.

Re: Is it likely that a .32 S&W long wadcutter can be reloaded on a progressive?
I made a set of bars with drilled holes for my RL550, I don't think they give better accuracy than the adjustable bar but I can go directly to the load I used before. There was a guy down here in NSW in Oz who made a powder bar for the Dillon 550/650 which used aluminium replaceable inserts which y...

Re: Is it likely that a .32 S&W long wadcutter can be reloaded on a progressive?
Match grande ammo, whit velocity SD´s in the 10s fps, no. Not really required, most .22lr won't hold that kind of SD from a pistol - is that a problem? Accuracy and velocity spread aren't all that well correlated - unless 1/4" variance at 100 yards is a problem for you. 10-20-30 fps SD gives m...

Re: Pardini SP: Trigger has stopped running smoothly
It can also be gunk in the ball spring screw in front of the trigger - this is what gives most of the second stage feel.
Do not overtighten the allen screw in the centre of this larger screw, they jam never to be unjammed.

Re: Pardini SP: Trigger has stopped running smoothly
This part is the trigger bar and runs on the left hand side
I take the barrel, slide and grip off, tilt 45 degrees upside down and use spray solvent with a tube on the nozzle to blast out that area from the rear, then lightly spray oil into the whole area.

Re: Pardini SP: Trigger has stopped running smoothly
Crud, brass shavings, can get between the trigger bar and the frame, (left hand side when viewed from the rear) its a large area which can create a lot of friction, the only way I know to get rid of it is spray solvent followed by a light spray oil. Stripping it down is too tedious. Do this before y...

Re: ISSF pistol shooting at risk in Canada?
Its does seem a gutless and pointless move, anyone who has a combat pistol can keep it, anyone who wants a .22 has to jump through hoops, no guns removed from the community. At least it costs the govt nothing I suppose. The inevitable next step will be to get shooting removed from the Olympics. Here...
