Re: Thread on the rod included with Pardini SP/HP?

Thats an archaic thread to be using, when even America has moved on to UNC

I would guess they outsource it and it just wasn't a good job.

Re: Thread on the rod included with Pardini SP/HP?

5-40 seems like a common thread for rods and brushes, this thread would have been machine turned, 5-40 and 1/8 BSW are very very close, if the thread gauge had the right pitch but wouldn't fit my guess is its just a slightly malformed 5-40.

The point is I'm right.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

Here people just have to fire some bullets in the direction of the target
For my club it is north-east
This way it is very easy for people to get their gun.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

Here the sole reason you can use to own a pistol is competition shooting. So people use this as a loophole to obtain their dream gun - typically a 9mm and often a Glock. Is it possible to shoot ISSF Centrefire with a 9mm Glock? Yes it is. Typical score is ~150/600. Should we be tolerating these peop...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

Thats great but my club does not have 'combat shooting', the closest it has is 'Service' which is a bit like PPC.
But PPC is hard work so people prefer to shoot Centrefire to achieve their minimum attendance requirements to own a 9mm

Re: Thread on the rod included with Pardini SP/HP?

Is the pitch finer or coarser than 40TPI?

From my thread chart, could be 5BA or 5-36, or of course some custom thread

Image

It seems like 5-40 is common so its probably that, try turning harder.

In history, where have we heard these exact words before . . . ?
We're talking about ISSF shooting competitions, all but one of which is limited to .22LR or air, this is hardly a threat to Americans preparing for the return of the redcoats.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

I shoot .38 special in ISSF competition. I have taken the Maunrhin .38 Match revolver to both World Championship and Commonwealth games and sometimes the only .38 on the line. You may have to justify your loads, no jacketed projectiles and loaded to .38 power levels. Typical is a 148g lead HBWC wit...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

Your use of the word "weapon" is just what the antigunners like to hear. Did you ever consider that the guy that shoots CF with a 9mm might also be a Service Pistol Shooter? Who, with a bit of encouragement might one day be an ISSF shooter? The point is for them its exactly that, a weapon...

Nope, I disagree completely.

Nuts who use a loophole get hold of a weapon when they aren't entitled to one aren't allies they are a liability.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

9mm is not the most common ISSF centrefire cartridge though is it? Here someone shooting ISSF centrefire with a 9mm is pretty well exclusively someone abusing the system to get his hands on a weapon he wouldn't otherwise be able to have. I'm not interested in facilitating these scumbags, or having a...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

You may have to justify your loads, no jacketed projectiles and loaded to .38 power levels. Is this defined anywhere though, or up to the individual competition organiser? It seems to be an unwritten rule that .38 special is about the upper power level, but unenforceable without a clear definition....

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

THEY are just as affected by the noise as you are. Well no, someone standing next to a 9mm or other high pressure/high velocity round is far more affected by it than the person shooting it - on a typically wide open ISSF range. Like it or not, an entrant shooting the 9mm has the same rights to shoo...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules

.38 Special +P is not allowed, and it has a velocity around 1,000 fps. Where is this written though? If its been determined by the ISSF somewhere that would be great. The vast majority of factory 9mm is significantly faster than that. Exactly, and double the pressure of 38+P Independent of ISSF rul...

ISSF Ammunition Rules

Does anyone know what ISSF rule 8.4.4 really means? 25m Center Fire Pistol 7.62 mm – 9.65 mm (.30”-.38”) Highpower or Magnum ammunition is not allowed From my perspective: 9mm is a high power cartridge It operates at magnum pressures or pretty close so really its a magnum cartridge. Has anyone seen ...

Re: standard pistol and RF 8-6-4 olympic trigger setting on pardini SP

Bear in mind with a pardini trigger the parts are quite soft. If you don't have a lot of sear engagement and coat regularly with moly grease the hammer will wear and form a step, chances are it will do so anyway. If you then try to add more sear engagement you will feel the step. https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Aiming too long

Try timing your shot with the trigger Everyone is taught to line up the sights then start squeezing the trigger, this means the trigger is released well after the point of optimum stability, then they snatch the shot as stability gets worse and worse. Set yourself a process which delivers shot relea...
