Re: New memer, question about wind effect on bullets
Here's some wind videos for smallbore from Heinz Reinkemeier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_xCBD9hQSo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEk1J8h1AX4 For fullbore I'd recommend the wind book for rifle shooters by Miller and Cunningham. By the way, with regards to wind effects, not everything transfer...

Monoframe Lens Holders
Hi All, I'm hoping you can help me with some measurements from the various manufacturers of monoframe lens holders that attach to the sights. I'm currently using champion frames and want to find a monoframe lens holder that I can swap the lens from the champion fames to the monoframe lens holder. Th...

Gel Gloves
Hi All,
I looking for some feedback on gel gloves like the ahg-Anschütz CONCEPT glove or the Sauer Premium glove.
I've traditionally used Kurt Thune solid or ahg-Anschütz top grip gloves but need a new glove and have been thinking about the gel gloves.
I'm a prone only shooter.
Thanks
Peter

Re: New Anschutz A22 MAX Design Study
Well this is what Anschutz should have built years ago instead of their 54.30. Interesting, operation of the bolt. From a movement efficiency point of view it doesn't look very efficient with having to twist the bolt ant-clockwise to unlock it before pulling it back. To me it would make much more se...

Re: ISSF 300m in Australia
Was Just wondering if there is anyone shooting 300m in Australia and whether there is a National championship anymore? And yes, I know it's not Olympic anymore, just though this was the best place to ask. ISSF 300m falls under the NRAA in Australia while the rest of the rifle ISSF disciplines falls...

Re: Dry firing a KK500?
Not sure on the difficulty of changing the firing pin on a KK500 but it’s quick on my Anschutz. What I did was when I replaced the firing pin I kept the old one and filed the end down so it was flush with the bolt face. So now I just change to the shorter firing pin for dry firing.

Re: Any reason Tanner rifles are not more popular?
We've rebarreled both G&E and Bleikers. Both of these are threaded at the breech ends, metric threads of course. The aluminum blocks are indeed a little different to work with than most domestic actions. I’ve noticed that the Swiss like the aluminium blocks for their recoil lugs. I’d be interes...

Re: cheek piece adjustment (.22 prone)
I don’t have much of a cheek bone on the side as well. My solution was to start with a flat parallel piece of wood and notched it so that it would clear the side of my face enabling the cheek bone towards the front of my face to sit on the cheek piece. It took a while but I eventually got a shape an...

Mec/Centra used to make one as well but I noticed it's no longer in their catalogue. Remaining stock can still be found though.

Re: REAR SIGHT TEST
I just clamp the sight in a vice with soft jaws and use a dialed indicator with a magnetic stand attached to the vice.
I can take a photo of the setup if you really need it.

Re: Sight Riser Block FreeCAD & STL file
Thanks jhmartin for posting a link.
To change the length or height, just go into the "KeyParameters" spreadsheet in the FreeCad file and change them to what you want, then export the STL file.
Enjoy all!!

Thanks for the replies, 'have a 3.8mm in now and eye to front sight is 32", 'can see it well enough and have tried inserts up to 4.6, but it seems as if the smaller size provides a more accurate sight picture for me. Thanks, g Many factors other than front ring size determines the sight pictur...

Sight Riser Block FreeCAD & STL file
Hi Everyone, I had some time to kill so I made a FreeCAD model for an Anschutz sight riser and exported STL files for a 10mm sight riser set. https://s5.postimg.org/xnkqfk3yr/Riser.jpg I'd be happy to post the FreeCAD and STL files here but the site is not allowing me to attach them. If someone woul...

Re: rear iris centering mirror
Mike, the mirror moved in the black outer part.
btucker, I lined up the hole in the mirror to be concentric with the reflection of my pupil.
Modena, the mec mirror for mec/centra rear irises screws on while the mec mirror for the gehmann irises clamp on the outside.

Re: rear iris centering mirror
I shoot with one for a while and found it helped but I moved to the MEC duplex which I've found to be better. I found that the mirror is not square with the rear iris axis such that if you adjust the aperture then your head position moves to keep your iris centered on the mirror. I also had the mirr...

Scatt Pulse
Hi All,
I noticed that the Scatt Pulse is no longer on their website so I guess it is no longer available.
I also see that the new Polar pulse sensors now use bluetooth to connect.
Does anyone know if Scatt are working on the bluetooth interface to the Polar pulse sensors?
Thanks!
Peter

Re: Best rearsight for seeing wind flags?
I find it is more the blinder that restricts seeing the flags than the sight itself.
What I have done is to use clear plastic with a small bit of tape in the spot needed to block out the target in the other eye. The tape can what ever colour you find you prefer ie white/ black/ translucent.
