Yes indeed! It must be pretty difficult for a parent when a youngster would like to get involved in 10 meter rifle. Sure, there might possibly be club guns available but the time comes when he or she will want their own rifle. That is a large some of money to put out no matter how you look at it. I ...

Yes, the alutec is the best rifle and is probably worth the extra money as you will find out after using it. As Peepsight alluded to it's better to pay a few dollars now rather than having regrets later on. You'll then only end up spending more. Trust your instincts as it seems that their leaning t...

This may not tell you too much as for the picture but, I didn't feel like removing the butt plate. I simply measured what size and length of Allen head machine screws that I needed. I also have a washer underneath the heads of the two Allen head screws that you can see in the picture. Its been somet...

I have a FWB 700 alu, and would love to replace the but plate with a MEC. How do you fit the MEC but plate to the FWB's. If you can a picture would do. If I get the time I'll try to take some pictures of how I did it. Other than that its not at all really hard to do. You simply have to buy a few ma...

Phil I believe you are allowed 220mm between the bottom of the butplate and the centerline of the barrel, and then another 60mm between the centere of the barrel and the centre of the front aperature, but I do not believe there is a rule retaining to the distance allowed from the top of the cheekpi...

I have a neck like a Giraffe and never had any problems with the amount of cheek rise adjustment on a FWB 700. Of course, then again, I have a MEC butt plate on mine which has a lot of horizontal adjustment as I never really cared for the butt plate that came with the 700 but I suppose I was spoiled...

No, of course it wasn’t the media that caused Matt a bad shot nor was I trying to infer that it in anyway was. I’m afraid you misunderstood my post. I was simply referring to the absurd accusation(s) that perhaps Matt wanted more of the same media attention by repeating what happened in Athens which...

Yep, by all means so would I. When you try to cut corners you usually end up buying what you should have bought in the first place and end up spending even more money. Look and shop around and buy the right item from the start. I bought some nice Gehmann boots for a decent price. In the end you'll p...

I'm not making any excuses for what Matt did nor would I ever accuse him of being pompous or arrogant as I never met the guy. To sit back and make judgments on him by what the media covers is unfair to him let alone making any innuendos that he possibly did what he did on purpose given the media att...

The FWB 700 has has two parallel blade rails and that might very well be what maestro is referring to. I have the same rifle and also very long fingers. With the infinite amount of adjustments to the trigger and the grip it shouldn't be hard to find a comfortable position. Being right handed I also ...

I'm not at all sure about this but just repeating what a friend told me. I own a pair of shooting boots and showed them to a friend of mine who knows nothing about the subject. He said they looked very similar to the type of shoe his son wears for skate boarding! I never looked into it but I'm sure ...

Finally managed to get the site open! As I later found out that a guest to the site was not able to see the images anyway but that issue has been resolved. Anyway, the link to the article should now work and all the images should now be visible. http://www.rifleandpistolzone.com/showpost.php?p=22&a...

Actually she is nothing special to the INS nor should she be as it would not be fair to all the others. I speak from personal experience with a very special girl to me. It takes a very long time to get through all the bureaucratic mess that the government has implemented since 9/11. Unfair to the we...

Re: Pistol
My coach always tells us to watch the front sight, if you get your npa right you dont need to look at the target. I don’t mean to sound flippant or perhaps sarcastic here although I’m sure it will be conceived that way and it’s not my intention but, just what do you look at if not the target? The p...

So far I've been able to watch what shooting events have occurred so far here: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/index.html However, I seem to be having problems in watching the Mens air rifle final! I can view everything else with no problem whatsoever but this one particular event refuses to downlo...

I was simply pointing out the fact that I've seen many shooters turn their heads/look away or, however one wishes to describe the action, and close there eyes momentarily. It was just an observation on my part as to this not at all being unusual when watching world class shooters. My comment about p...

Yep....it was an Anshutz. You'd think that there would be more media attention given in some respects but I've not heard a thing other than her winning a gold and mention of her husbands name. Now if Matt manages to pull off a gold and I don't hear more about them in the States I'll be very disappoi...
