Re: Best .22 conversion to buy?

I shoot a Nelson conversion kit.

Excellent design, quality, weight, and accuracy.

I can recommend them with no reservations.

Re: "Decent" air pistol (Daisy 747) for small shoo

I have an old 747 but it is way too heavy for my son (50" tall and 50 pounds) to hold even with 2 hands. He currently shoots it off a rest. What else might be out there with similar accuracy that is lighter and not CO2 or PCP? SSP would be ideal. Prefer not spring piston. It should also either...

Try the CZ 97 BE

I've shot a fair number of high quality 1911 pistols over the years -- Wilson, Les Baer, and several others -- though I've never owned one myself. They shot very tight groups to be sure. I have several CZ 75 Shadow pistols in 9mm that I enjoy very much. When it came time to add a .45 to the stable, ...

Re: AR2079B Air Rifle or any of the QB78 family

I was just wondering what kind of experience people have had with this rifle from Archer Airguns, as to their accuracy and reliability. I am shooting a TauBrno200 now and wonder how it would compare. Thanks, Kent. I bought one for my boys many years ago when they were small. Craftsmanship is nonexi...

I don't believe in the theory of evolution...in this case.

With Feinwerkbau there is only Devine Creation.

Hmmm...... The two immaculate FWB 103 pistols and two equally fine FWB 603 rifles sitting in my gun locker do seem awfully inviting all of a sudden. I'm actually glad I never spent the money for PCP...and here I was longing for a fancy new P44. Well, maybe not anymore. Now I understand why my old &q...

The 'Dude speaks the truth about lock times...I had completely forgot about that aspect...and it is a huge deal. The FWB 300 has a considerably longer lock-time than SSP and PCP rifles (and CO2, for that matter). As such, the 300 is not forgiving of poor follow-through. SSP and PCP rifles will let a...

Personally, I do not shoot my FWB 300s as well as I do my FWB 603. Not by a long shot; the springer generally nets me 10-15 points lower than the SSP in a 60 shot "match". However, I attribute most of the difference to be the fit and balance of the rifle and how they sit in my hands and ag...

I think Brian's comment above about gun orientation in the case is certainly valid. It seems that every single-gun case I've ever seen has the gun hang upside-down when carrying, and this might well place the sights in danger if you're trying to squeeze it into as small of a case as possible. If the...

You're going to want to keep plenty of foam between the front sight and the end of the case. Your layout of the 103 shows the foam being very, very thin under the front sight. Once you pick up the case, and the pistol in held upside down, the whole weight of the pistol will be on that tiny portion o...

I'm interested in this type of case as well. One for my older dark blue 103 that came without a case...and maybe another for my IZH-46M as well. Of course, pending price, appearance, etc. Have you thought of cutouts for tools, the white grease tube, etc.? It looks like there's room between the cocki...

Here's yet another version, with the three metal locks, but soft foam padding and no cylinder cut-out.

Looks like there were several types of hard cases that were offered over the years.

I found a photo of a similar, but different case. This one looks like it has cut-outs for a PCP cylinder, but obviously can also fit the long cocking arm of the 103.

Perhaps this is an one-size-fits-all FWB case for the years they sold both SSP and PCP pistols.

One of my 103 pistols came in a cardboard box with Styrofoam inserts. The other in a nice hard plastic carrying case with foam inserts pre-cut for the 103, a tin of pellets & spots for all the accessories.

I own many SSP pistols and rifles (mostly FWB brand); I shoot them regularly and recommend them as very cost-effective and just as accurate as PCP. However, the SSP rifles have one huge drawback...and it's just this deficiency that will effect you... You mentioned that you want to shoot position wit...

I agree with what many have said.

I own an 80, an Izzy, and a couple of 103's. I prefer to shoot them in that order; the 80 is fun for remembering the 1980's, the Izzy was a great starter gun, but the 103's are much easier to shoot well.

Well if you are going this alone without club support, I would reccomend a nice used Anschutz 2001 or 2002 SuperAir SSP. heck I'd recommend them if you had club support. A compressed air model would be nice but you have to have a means to fill it. For all the same reasons Mike lays out above, I'd a...

I understand that FWB 103s are some of the most consistent (velocity-wise) pistols that have ever been on the market--even better than many of the latest PCP offerings. Something to think about. I think that's pretty much hogwash. Yes, the scuba guns need e few shots to settle in after the cylinder...

I've got a pair of FWB 103 pistols I shoot for all the reasons listed above. The latter was one of the final 103 APs shipped to the States before FWB stopped production of the...
