Some random notes: I have a more current and complete (even has pictures) version of Dr. Wong's articles at: Dr. Norman Wong Articles as posted to the Bullseye List When adding a bull to your dry fire, use a small one and move close, so your eyes are near-focused even if you do look at the target. ...

What do you mean by calling my shots, sorry new term for me :( You mean I know whenever I hit a 10' as soon as my gun goes off? If so, i guess I can call some of my shots. Thanks for all the help guys :) What Bill said. If the holes aren't where you called them, and you have sighted your pistol pro...

Another idea, at our local club they had a hard time seeing bullet holes in the black often. The guy who runs the hp matches was at a club where they put something like a real estate sign or maybe like what they use for political signs behind the target. The plastic material is just plain white tho...

. . . . If it is a barrel that has also shot copper jackets, that seems to come out last as green. Mil-spec oil is stinky and bad for you so be careful. I remember being told that the formula for Hoppes #9 was changed in the late 70s or early 80s because of the toxic chemicals used that did the bes...

Yep, Solomon, you're right. I practice with Eley Target Pistol on my 50 meter range and I shoot 50 yard matches with Eley Pistol Match. I wasn't able to see an impact change. {I was shooting 530s Free at the time}. The pistol target is big compared to the rifle target. I tested my free pistol off sa...

I clean my free pistol after every match and after every practice session where I shoot at least 50 rounds or in high humidity. I use a one piece coated rifle cleaning rod and Match Winner solvent. My Hammerli 162 has a hole in the grip so I can clean from the breech. My patches come out clean. I us...

Re: Really Silly, Basic Cleaning Question
. . . . I agree in principle that a .22LR should *never* be cleaned- just pull the occasional wet patch/dry patch through after brushing the chamber. That's what i have been doing all along with my rimfire .22s) . . . Steve, How are you "brushing the chamber"? I hope you were not just pus...

Hi Ned, There are differences between brands and lots. It sounds like you are a newer shooter. If that is the case, spend more time improving your technique and less time concerned about ammo. The NRA Bullseye target is rather large compared to differences in lots and brands. It is important to get ...

Jason, I have one I used for 100 yard SB prone. It is wood with two steel rods hooked to the back so they will slide. I put points on the rods and shoved them in the dirt. I don't have the legs hinged, but it would be easy to do to fold. The rods pull right out. The rods came from a 1960s car trunk ...

I used to shoot outdoor smallbore prone and position at a great range that had covered firing points but grass firing line. It was great, but was hard to keep the grass growing especially during drought years. If I remember correctly there were about 40 points with the range sloping to the right. Wi...
