Whatever you are comfortable with is one parameter but the second is physical ability. Cliff Halanar always said the eye is what tires first, not the arm. Part of your training is the ability to hold . The shot should be the same each time. For me it is 60 minutes of meditation on a good day (I shoo...

My 2 cents

Although it is a very hard read, I highly recommend Hickey and Sievers Successful Pistol shooting. Many will go AuggGGH! but let me tell you, read it, and I mean read it cover to cover. It is repetitive, talks about stuff for kids training, can be boring ...but PooF! the lights go on and stay on. I ...

Crumbs!

I don't mean to complain but the last match (which I attended) was in January. Placing it on a 11 month cycle and at the end of the calendar (and vacation ) year , kills my ability to participate. I wasn't able to plan vacation for it. A few weeks later and it would have worked out. I hope I will se...

Here are some facts: FACT: Each year the format has been the same and fewer and fewer people come. I have shot the Nationals for 4 years including a selection match. There will be no fifth with this format. If the format isn’t working, why keep doing it? Obviously, we as a group of competitors care ...

OT

The subject is fascinating to me because it is dynamic and subjective. I asked Erich B about it and his advice was to use a stop on mechanical triggers and none on electronics. That still didnt explain why. I occaisionally gust into the 570's in air. My Morini has no stop and my Steyr LP1 is current...

There is more to this as you look harder. Here is my 2 cents because it is a neet subject to think about. In the case of the Morini 162EI (which I use as well as a Steyr LP1), there are 2 springs for the 2 stages and a contact switch (that you can feel). The first spring is for stage 1, at some poin...

Same is true in Bullseye, the groups are universally better in rapid than in timed. Fast is in! I shoot SF in doubles and triples. I am always amazed that in standard I never feel rushed in rapid and still have time left, makes Bullseye seem slow. I havent had the courage to shoot that way in bullse...

Brian Zins is shooting 80 grams in a TOZ, Daryl Szarenski was shooting a Morini at 24 grams if I remember correctly. Use what works for you. I found change is good. Tried a 3-10 gram trigger and couldnt control it at all. Seem that I was unable to initiate movement without jerks in the other fingers.

450 is a little light, mine came in at 435 and when I turned in the screw, the plug jammed in the hammer and it wouldnt fire. Anyway after polishing the plug I got it up to 500 and it shot much better. Also pardon me the targets cited are poor and they almost always tear but low velo aggravates it. ...
