No confusion.
If you watch the video posted by Arcturus you will see that the firearm explosion was caused by using O2 ( pure oxygen ) from a hospital.
As well the post by Arcturus mentions never to use pure O2 to which I agree with completely.

Re: CO2 to O2 conversion
O2 definitely but I don’t think the same danger exists with CO2.

Re: CO2 to O2 conversion
Many thanks Gwelo . However while watching the installation video they mentioned that the kit is only for single shot Steyr CO2 pistols and a 5 shot Steyr must be returned to the factory in Austria for fitment.

Re: CO2 to O2 conversion
Definitely the safer and most sensible approach is to buy the conversion kit, however my original query was to ask if it was possible without the added expense.
I certainly appreciate the input by all involved.

Thanks porkchop. I will have to investigate the price, but at the moment it may not be worth the expense.

Re: CO2 to O2 conversion
My Steyr CO2 cylinders have 250 bar ( 3626 psi ) stamped on them and that is why I don’t have pressure concerns using the 200 bar ( 2900 psi ) O2.

CO2 to O2 conversion
I have a Steyr LP5 that I bought new in 1996 and have been wondering if it would run on O2 without any modifications other than an adapter. It seems that the pressure between CO2 and O2 are within the same ballpark and the seals that last with CO2 should not be detrimentally affected by compressed a...

Re: Morini v Pardini Rapid Fire Pistols
Considering that you already have a Morini CM 22 M I would not consider buying a RF version of either brand unless you are planning on replacing the CM22. The performance difference between the standard and RF is an insignificant advantage for most shooters. I would save the money.....my personal op...

Matchgun closure
I recently found out that the Matchgun factory is in financial difficulty and the factory has closed.
They are still able to ship parts but no pistols are being produced.

Re: Scuba tank setup for air pistol cylinder refills
I have owned both 200 and 300 bar cylinders and preferred the 300. You have to watch closely when transferring from the 300 to a 200 AP cylinder to ensure not going over pressure but apart from that it lasts much longer. The threads are the same on both, however the thread is about 5-6 mm longer on ...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!
The .32 spring length I mentioned was from a well used spring that had shortened to 100 mm after repeated use. However I used the same number of coils from the new spring and it was obviously longer. However the result was the same. I purchased the pistol new in 2012 and had similar intermittent pro...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!
The .32 srs is the same length and diameter as the .22 srs. 100 mm. and 5.2 in diameter with the exception that the wire diameter is 0.8 mm. I ordered a length of 0.8 mm x 5.2 from China, cut 55 coils and installed it. Not a hint of a problem in 500 rounds Sometimes problems can be more simple than ...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!
I found that using the standard spring ( 0.6 mm. ) the pistol would not correctly feed, and even damage the brass and lead resulting in an unwanted malfunction. Buying new replacement springs improved the situation however it would still have the same problem with approximately one in twenty shots. ...

Re: Miracle Cure for Fussy Benelli .22's!
I resolved my feeding problems by changing the slide return spring from the original which uses 0.6 mm.wire to one made from 0.8 diameter wire.
Amazing transformation.

I set up our timers for 10 seconds, eight seconds and six seconds rather than 8,6 and 4.
It transformed the event for non olympic shooters in a very positive way.
It suddenly became very enjoyable and lost its soul destroying trait.
