Well, it may not be as good of an article as it sounds.

Mark, That is exactly the kind of tape (white) I'm using. I don't worry about the gunk that's left behind - and there isn't much that can't be cleaned out with a toothpick or q-tip. What's left doesn't affect functioning. Perhaps I'm a little hard on it, but it's worked very well for me so far. - Nick

Cleaning IZH-35
Like Craig, I clean-while-assembled before matches and when it looks like it needs it (bore-snake with some SP-40 and q-tip everything else). When it gets really dirty (400-600 rds) I'll take it apart and clean it. That said, there are places that always seem to have some grit in them and it never s...

Hi Coach, I totally agree with you. Heather and I have been keeping current by shooting bullseye and Katina has shot the Fleet Matches the past two years, but we're hibernating (hopefully not permanently!) with olympic shooting. Part of our shooting enjoyment is the community, and the olympic commun...

DJ Precision...
I just wanted to second the opinion that DJ precision does good work and provides good service. I have the hex screws, a shroud weight and the slide stop with no complaints in over 2 years.

USAS site down.
No idea, but hopefully they're in the process of updating it. The last version was barely useful at all.

Match DB
Ryan, Would you be willing to share your DB? I'd be interested in using it. Ian, I suspect if you post your requirements, several people may take up the challenge of creating something for you - myself included. Having never run a match before, I have no idea what are 'must have' features and what a...

O-rings
Sorry, I should have been more precise. I have the DJ Precision screws and was curious about what kind of o-rings you were using.

Good info
While I've never had problems with the front sight or the trigger (after using the manual to adjust it) I do have the problem with the upper shroud screws working loose. Do you use a particular size/brand? It sounds like something I need to try.

USAS Web Site
Sparky,
I already chided USAS for their poor web site a couple months ago and was told they're working on fixing/upgrading it. No time frame so who knows when it'll be done, but we can hope it will be soon.

Nick, A FP, Std, CF/Sport match was recently held near Richmond, VA. There should be more of these matches there next year. Also, AP and FP matches are starting again near Yorktown, VA. There may be Std and Sport matches there at some point in the future. Stan Stan, Thanks for the heads-up. Any cha...

Dump them...
Pat, I'm not suggesting coaches should spend inordinate amounts of time with their top shooter. I would think that if you're spending all your time with one shooter because s/he has an ego problem, then ignore them. Let them shoot, let them compete, but don't waste your time on them. I agree that yo...

No trust in the system...
Pat, I don't have any coaching experience and while I've never shot at a World Cup event, I can't remember seeing any medals/trophies/awards given to a national team. All of the accolades go to individuals. Who cares about a team? It doesn't seem very reasonable to me to shut someone out of Olympic ...

Information...
Rob - very true and will do. Mark - I'm confused as to what you mean by '...coaches are reluctant to set a checklist for making the team because then the power is in the checklist, not in themselves.' Why should the coach have that power? Wouldn't it be better to have a standard that can be fairly a...
