Re: Scuba tank setup for air pistol cylinder refills

The best solutions for filling the PCP tanks is the scuba tank. Either rent (as Rover suggests) or buy one. If you look around on the 2nd hand market, make sure the tank is proofed. Normally the check-up is valid for 3 years to 5 years, depending on the use of the tank. A regular 200 Bar tank will d...

Re: Free Pistols are still being made .. ?

Abolishing free pistol from the Olympics was the most 'anti-gun' rule that ISSF has ever taken (so far ?). David Levene told me that it was because ISSF wanted to have the same number of disciplines for men and women. But free pistol was exactly that! It was FREE for men and women. Luckily some stil...

Re: AP and best friends?

To complete my earlier message: When you're shooting leave the dog with to someone he trusts , your partner or neighbor. Arrange that the dog can hardly hear the noise of the gun even an airgun. That way the dog will slowly get used to the sound and realize there is no danger. But it will take time!...

Re: AP and best friends?

Much depends on how the dog was raised. Our Malinois Shepard (a rescue dog) hated gunfire or thunderstorm and ran away when a gun was fired, even an air pistol. We knew a storm was approaching just by the behavior of the dog. Our Bull-Mastiff just didn't care at all. The Rotties however get angry wh...

Re: Over filling cylinder

Overfilling the cylinder looks like a bad idea. I have a cylinder that after a while runs completely empty. I figure it has to do with the valve. But 'overfilling' it makes no sense and as Arcturus suggests may be dangerous. Remember you're putting other people at risk as well.

Thank you for the link. Btw. it says "emphasized that oil must NOT be allowed into the hammer/sear region as this will wash away the special Moly lubrication "

Re: Hammerli 208s - problem with a trigger pull weight consistency

Be careful with lubing the trigger. Hammerlï is not fond of grease on the sear engagement. I would rather suggest to make sure there is no grease or lube on the sear. About the trigger stop:I would advice to turn the stop to the point where the trigger doesn't go off and then turn 1/2 a turn back. G...

Re: AP20 pro vs. LP500

Hi Lothar,
I've had quite a few quality air pistols. FWB, Walther, they are ALL good guns. They will All show a one hole test target. So don't have any doubt about their quality or precision. Choose the one that pleases you, that feels the best. Shooting '10' will be all up to you! ;-)

Re: Sanderson at Rio World Cup

As far as I could trace Keith shot the whole match, but with 0 at the 8 seconds he most likely realized that he couldn't be selected for the finals. The '0' in the 1st 8" series I can only suppose that he had too many malfunctions. Also in the second run his performance was not 'as usual'. But ...

Re: Question about Rink grips

Rink is probably one of the best grip makers on the market. I would advise you to send him an outline of the shooting hand. That way you will have a grip that is the closest to your hand. However, don't think that this grip will be perfect! It will be a very good starting point. It still may need sl...

"Frankly, I’d give an arm AND a leg for an Olympic medal in FP.
Bob"
Sorry Bob, I'm sure that any Paralympic would be glad to trade any medal to have his arm or leg back.
I admire them for there courage. I'm sure you do too.

Looking back at the Olympics

The Olympics are over. Maybe time to look back at the shooting disciplines. In earlier mails I noticed the comment of David Levine saying that we should be happy that we were still allowed to 15 disciplines. Davids' career in the sport and as an official is well known, his observations are to be con...

You are probably right. I'm not that close to the family :-) . I can only refer to what I read on the net. BTW. The rapid-fire team did nice as well. To bad Corona prevented a lot of shooters to participate.
Have fun shooting!

At the World Cup 2021 in New Delhi the US-competitors in AR hit the top! Lucas KOZENIESKY won gold in a thrilling match. TUCKER Caroline and WEISS Alison won gold and silver in the women's competition. Nice performance of these shooters.

Re: Why are Bullseye shooters such pussies?

Rover has certainly drawn the attention! "Why....are pussies?" will be noticed by any '....' who thinks he's targeted. But it doesn't mean that Rovers arguments can be put aside. Every shooter will know that the bullet takes it's definite trajectory when leaving the barrel. Every hand gunn...

All well that ended well! Mr.Frauenberg changed the O-ring on the cylinder and that was it. He explained that the damage is very hard to see but that is happens from time to time. B.t.w. the service was free of charge!
