Doesn't breathing by diaphragm lower your heartbeat?
I guess that's the answer.

Dave, Interesting story. Steel plates are fun and fairly easy. So satisfying. We have quite a lot of 'Soft Air'-shooters'. It's like Practical but with CO2 repeaters. I've tried to make the fun-shooters switch to AP target shooting, with a success of 1 out of 10, totally unsure if this 1 shooter wil...

Re: "internal strife in the U.S. federation" - Reuters artic
I hadn't seen this information, thank you for posting it. However, many of those that were 'sure' to make it to the finals, didn't. I think of the Russians, Ukraines. The only one that kept up the expectations was Reitz. Looking at the results of earlier matches it seems to me that Reitz has used th...

Re: MG1E air leak
I had the same problem. I pushed the o-ring in place using wooden sticks and a lot of patience. But it worked. If I can do it anybody can.
So patience and good luck.

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
I think your driving this too far. Do you want to compare e.g. the world hour record in Bicycling with the times or distances that were achieved on bikes made say 50 years ago? I don't think so. As a matter of fact, the Free pistols used in the '50s do not differ that much from what is used today. I...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
In favor or against electronic targets is a choice, an opinion. However I see in our club after electronic targets were installed, (1) people in the clubhouse are watching the event on TV screens, (2) many more shooters (old and new) got interested in AP shooting. So, you may like it or not, but it ...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
Thank you for the link to these films. I find them very interesting as promotional documents. But I can hardly see how a spectator can follow a performance shot by shot as finals are shot today. Therefore I prefer the electronic target were you can follow the match…even from the seat in the cantina....

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
Btw. A Belgium shooter (Anne Goffin) participated in FP in the Olympics. I think she was originaly selected only for AP but I presume there were lines availble she took the opportunity to participate (scored 515, not bad for someone who isn't a FP shooter) QED! (which is what had to be proven) See ...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
I’m inclined to think that women would enjoy FP, if more matches would be accessible to them. If internationally FP would be open to women, women would be stimulated to take up 50-m FP. So rather than abolish a discipline, it would be better to open up a sport to the ‘weaker sex’. I don’t think it w...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
But FP is the one pistol shooting event that has been part of every Olympiad. I don't think that's true. 1924? 1932? I believe that RFP has been in more Olympiads (but could be wrong). If my research is correct, RF has been let out of (only) one Olympiad as well. But I don’t think that is the point...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
A pity if one of the oldest competitions pistol competitions would be banded. If equity is important, why not make the all disciplines accessible to men and women? It has been done before (from 1964 till 1980?).

Re: USA Beware?
I want to thank the forum members for their comments. I started the thread with a question: “USA Beware?” not “USA Beware!”. I wanted to avoid an ideological or a political discussion. On the continent the news from Britain comes in rather slowly, unless it is some presumed scandal in the Royal Fami...

Re: What is the Most Used Pellet for 10m Pistol at the Olymp
The most known manufactures produces quality pellets. The H&N 'sport' pellets will hold the 10 ring in AP, so will the basic RWS. I went to Vogel to select pellets for my LP10. And indeed, Vogel selected a lot that cut out a 7 mm hole. With irony, I told M. Vogel that I now was going to be champ...

Re: Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
A factory grip is an average. It will fit more or less the average hand S,M,L etc. A grip from Ring will be adapted to your hand...more or less. If you have the opportunity to go to his workshop and have Rink to fit a grip to your hand, you will have a grip that fits...for a while. An outline of the...

Re: ISSF Music
"How many of you have participated already/recently in ISSF finals?"
Sorry, but that's not the issue! Does the music make the competition more fun to view? That's what it is about.
Many seem to say no, not really or no not at all. So, than is ISSF missing the target ;-).

Guy

Re: ISSF Music
I can only agree with David Levene. Due to a crazy man who killed and wounded 3 persons in Antwerp, our gun laws have changed. If shooting had not been an Olympic Sport, the gun regulations in Belgium would have been more stringent than in Britain.

Re: LP400 cylinder problems
LP400: end of the story. The dealer (Fa.Keuchen from Aachen) replaced the cylinder (free of charge, he even participated in the return cost!) and sent the defective one back to Walther, asking Walther if they didn’t test the cylinders before leaving the factory? I doubt he will get an answer. Anyway...

Re: how to shoot duel
There is no single "best way", just a "best way for you". For me it was a slow raise, with most of the trigger weight taken up at the ready position, ensuring good sight alignment so that the trigger broke "automatically" on arrival at the aiming area. My aiming area w...
