Importance of Pellet weight?
Lots of mails about pellets have been posted. But I've found no information about the differences in precision according to the weight. I noticed that the light pellets about 7.50 gr were originally (to my knowledge) only available from RWS (Green Basic) or Geco, but now H&N, JSB are also offeri...

Re: Steyr or Morini to buy
The SSP has two considerable advantages. First you shoot with the air of the range of the club. Two, even if you don't shoot well, you had a good work-out !
So you win all the time!

Re: Steyr or Morini to buy
What gun to buy? Actually the question is what gun will shoot 10's. And the answer is easy: they all do! It depends on the shooter. If you are in doubt, ask some of you club members if you can try their gun and evaluate how it feels. It's like going to the proms. You can invite different girls to da...

Re: Guy's Beer Tour
About Arizona. Of course Rover has his way to tell a story. In short, we (my wife and I) appreciated our stay in Sedona. The introduction to the local 'cuisine' was educational and tasty. And Rover was a super guide. To bad that time flies by so quickly. But I made a promise to Rover: we'll introduc...

Re: Bulged barrel of my SIG Hämmerli P 240
Maybe you can contact Walther. Walther has taken over all equipment from Hammerlï. Maybe they can help you. Good luck. Guy Hahahahaha... Good luck with that, Walther might own the hammerli brand, but they don't give a sh*t about anything hammerli that was made (properly) in Switzerland! You caught ...

Re: Bulged barrel of my SIG Hämmerli P 240
Hello Jacques, I have been shooting the 240 for quite a while. The myth of a barrel too tight for the regular .38 size bullet has been around for a long time. Hammerlï has warned about bullets that were 'oversized' but all ways stated that it was not the cause of a bulged barrel. What can happen is ...

Re: EU Gun Ban
The shooting took place in 2006 and Van Temse (the shooter) was convicted life imprisonment in 2008. The time you participated on an IPSC contest the laws hadn't changed. Mind, it is still possible to yet eg. 9 mm, .38, .45 handguns but the police may take 6 month or more for their inquiry. There is...

Re: EU Gun Ban
The reason I posted this info from Europe is just to show where regulations can lead to. Maybe a short (and incomplete) history on gun laws in Belgium. Before 1933 gun sales were not regulated. We had the civilian guards, who were actually civilians with a military training that were at the disposal...

EU Gun Ban
Although of no direct interest to gun owners in the US, this article may be interesting. In short: the EU wants a stricter gun control (not to say ban) in the name of safety. If you are ineterested or just curious read on: EU Gun Ban https://www.change.org/p/council-of-the-european-union-eu-you-cann...

Ultimate pellet tester?
I found this on from a German firm. My German is only elementary but I understand that this machine will select pellets according to their rotation symmetry. The result would be identical pellets (or as good as). As far as I understand, there would even be a sililar device for .22 bullets? I wonder ...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog
I'm afraid that when publicity entered the Games, in OG of Los Angeles if I'm not mistaken, the future of those sport that are not visually appealing to the camera has finished. And in spite of the electronic targets, where action and result are shown, almost at the same moment, the target shooting ...

Re: Thinking of a PCP AP
Hello Xman, It seems you are quite happy with your Izzy, so why change? To me the only valid reason is the ease of operating: no work-out with a PCP. If you want a top AP, choose among the leading manufactures. They are quality wise equal. I would advise a pistol that is the closest in weight and ba...

50 m Proçne no longer Olympic in 2024?
Just heard rumors that 50 m Prone would no longer be shot at the Olympics!?
Is there anyone who picked up the same news or is it (hopefully) only a rumor?

Re: Air Pistol Test Group Sizes
Life is too short to shoot bad ammo or drink bad wine. Too lots one for practice and one for match. How do you feel about older whiskey, younger women, faster horses, and more money? This makes me think of my grand-dads warning: "Beware of a horse back side and a woman's front side!" I fo...

Too mellow? Maybe, but let the starters find out for themselves.

Re: Rapid fire target history?
At my club, I found some old yellow targets, with large oval scoring rings... I questioned the (really) old guys and they told me they used those "back in the day" for the rapid-fire stage of center-fire pistol. Are they talking about ISSF (ISU) 25m center-fire pistol? If so, when did the...

Re: Air Pistol Test Group Sizes
What kind of test group sizes does one expect to get out of a quality air pistol at 10 meters? Are the groups as tight as that of an air rifle? Quite a while ago I payed a visit to M.Vogel in Germany to have my pistol tested and select the 'best' pellet. M.Vogel himself confirmed that only the top ...
