45 sight adjustments

In my experience, using a Bomar rib and iron sights on a 1911, I needed five clicks up when shooting "center of mass" to go from 25 yards to 50 yards. Now I shoot sub-six and I dont change the sights at all.

MG 2 Rapid Fire

Eric, I am the guy with the Rapid Fire kit on my MG 2 and I do not live in Canada. I replied to this post because the author, Mike M, is considering a new standard pistol and mentioned the MG 2 as a possible choice. The MG 2 is not common in the US and the Rapid Fire kit is even more rare. I tried t...

S&W Model 15

The S&W Model 14 is a very good target revolver and the Model 15 is just as good. With the modifications listed above and a trigger job, the only differences are a 4 inch barrel instead of the 6 inch Model 14 barrel and a ramp front sight instead of the Model 14 patridge front sight. I took a Mo...

Revolvers for Int CF

For many years, I had been using a semi auto (S&W 52) for Int CF. About a year ago for some reason, I tried using a common ordinary revolver with fixed sights. I really enjoyed shooting Int CF that day, so I bought a S&W mod 15 (4 inch barrel in .38 spl) added Nill grips, a trigger stop and ...

LP300

I have owned an LP300 for about 6 years now. I bought mine when they first were available in the US. The trigger is very good, crisp and consistant. The only problem I had was that the trigger would not hold adjustments. I had to readjust every 6 months or so. Around 2005, Walther made a new trigger...

Centra Forend for TOZ

I installed one on my TOZ 35 because I wanted a little more weight in the front to help dampen front sight movement. I have heard of prople wrapping solid solder around their barrel to do the same thing. Also there are wood forends with a metal locking nut in front to add some weight. But I found th...

LP 300 trigger

cdf wrote The Walther LP300 might be an option... There are so few around that its hard to tell if the bad trigger stories are truth or urban ledgend. LP300

I have owned a LP300 for several years now. The first trigger would not hold adjustments for more than 6 months. I needed to readjust at least twice a year. I have replaced my trigger group with the new type that has much harder to turn screws. The trigger now holds adjustments and I have not needed...

Do it right!

Whatever you do wrong - as long as you do it wrong the same way every time (i.e. great groups, but in the wrong place), adjusting the sights will put those lovely groups in the 10 ring. For many years, I was shoting two groups on my targets. Each group of 3 to 7 shots, would be sighted in on the ce...

Trigger weights

For an unofficial trigger weight device, try using two full tins of pellets suspended on a bent coat hanger or in a plastic bag. For pellets that are 0.5 gram in weight, a full tin of 500 pellets weighs 250 grams. Two tins weigh 500 grams, just right for airpistol. I have also used this method to ad...

IZH 35

I have owned a IZH 35 since 2001. The only changes I made were adjusting the trigger sear overlap and overall trigger weight, installing new orthopedic type grips, installing a wider trigger blade and streaching the magazine springs as some writters on this board have suggested in the past. During t...

Bullseye vs N310

Bullseye leaves a lot of burnt powder residue in your gun and N310 burns much cleaner. I use N310 because I can shoot more shots between cleanings.

Measuring small powder charges depends more on consistant technique than anything else.

[What are some of the better models by those companies? How good is the Walther LP300?] I have been shooting a Walther LP300 for several years now. Try this

If I read your problem correctly, your gun will not cock anymore. Try setting more sear engagement. Go to the TenP files sponsored by Pilkguns. Turning screw #4 (directly behind the trigger blade) counterclockwise will increase the amount of overlap.

Same story here...

I have Vitarbo on my S&W M-41, and I had to do a lot of trimming with my dremmel tool to get them to fit my large sized hand. Once the trimming was done, they feel just like any other anatomical grip without an adjustable palm shelf. One problem is that the slide sometimes drags on my hand near ...

My back up gun for my fee pistol is my standard pistol. It was also my back up for rapid fire back when we could use 22 short guns. Lately, I have been bringing my older standard pistol along with my primary guns, just in case my new standard pistol acts up.
