Try making sure your left elbow is not TOO far under the rifle (for a righty) . Get it positioned just off the left side of the rifle to maintain the triangle base formed between the left and right elbow and the left hand.... ("get enough weight on right elbow")
hope it helps! Mark D

Re: The State of Smallbore Rifle Competition in America
Speaking as a retired guy on a limited income, cost is a huge determinant. When everything is added up for a two day trip "out of town to somewhere," I'm looking at about 400 to 700 dollars. Can't afford it. We just had a 3200 point smallbore shoot cancelled in Cincinnati due to lack of p...

Re: NRA Championships at Camp Atterbury
Dan, -Parking is behind the range structure so you will not have to walk very far. -No vendors in the past -The firing points are nice, flat concrete with an overhead roof / last year the firing line was pulled back by one yard protecting shooters from rain /runoff coming off the roof line which is ...

Re: cheekpiece and head position
The cheekpiece on my UC stock is not at a "right angle" but rather has a curved radius coming downwards. I have not been entirely happy with its shape and have considered modifying it to mirror the old (2213 or 2313)ANS stock - cheek piece (cast aluminum stock-not the precise). It is not q...

Re: Question about Irritation Eyes during competition
I have a -7.0 correction using a contact lens. To see the front sight clearly, I use a -6.50 contact lens. The net +.50 correction enables me to see the front sight more clearly. If you, as you suggest, have over-powered your aiming eye correction from -1.50 to -1.75, that will make the front sight ...

Re: A comparision of loading ports between the various rifle
Given we are all built differently, different lengths between the buttstock and pistol grip, should you not focus on the distance the loading port is from the pistol grip.? Regardless of whether it's in relation to the trigger or pistol grip, closer is better. The relationship / distance between th...

Re: Unclear front sight picture
Art, I wear a -6.50 contact lens for shooting, and have for many years. I have a slight difficulty getting a good focus on the front sight. Because my correction is at the -6.50 level, the next available contact lens power is -6.00. I am thinking of trying the lens holder that connects to the rear a...

Re: Are Palma sights suitable for smallbore competition?
I have used a 1/4 click warner rear sight on both the NRA and ISSF targets with no issues. My sight radius is likely 40+ inches with the bloop tube so the 1/4 click MOA is probably closer to 1/5 MOA..

Re: Esprit Carabine stock - floating barrel & impact on tune
Justin,
I note that a couple of shooters in Rio were using the stock. They opted to use the barrel clamping method rather than using the action block. Not sure who they were. Dan Killough at Killough Sports can probably answer some of your questions.

Re: Buy a tuner or not?
All, I do not believe using a tuner will hurt you. My preference is to test lots at 50 and 100 with the tuner in place and set to "zero". I most recently did this in Mesa AZ at the Lapua test center. After testing a dozen or so lots I purchased the lot that shot the best test groups at 100...

Try a piece of thin leather with a good adhesive..absorbs sweat, no slippage, lasts a long time and cheap
