Electronic target systems: Megalink vs Haering

Hi all. Happy Thanks giving Day to everyone ! I will be getting an electronic target system shortly, and I am debating which one is the most cost-effective. Sius is of course out of my reach (>5000 USD), but Megalink and Haering appear to be the best choices: they can be used for both 10 and 50 mete...

I did look for pricing on these systems last year, and according to Megalink rep in the US their system should have a total cost close to USD 2700, the "regular" SIUS for 10 meters was like USD 5000, so I wonder what is the cost of the new laser system ?

I think Peter Sidi did have a trigger malfunction as he said. If you look the ISSF video it would seem that he is having trouble with it during that bad shot. I cannot explain why it worked fine after that though..

It is important to notice, however, that even with a "cold" 0 as a witness of an undisputable mistake (or technical problem, I do not know exactly what happened), he managed to get score of 1165, beating shooters such as Rajmond Debevec and Christian Planner... On the elimination day he sh...

Practice is the main thing...One good practice drill is to dry fire and hold the sight picture so that the trigger breaks by surprise. Just hold in the target as best you can while easing on the trigger. The more your hold moves the more dependant on timing you will be. When you can hold like a gra...

I have not had the chance of reading the article yet, but I tend to agree on this issue, although I think we all recognize that there is an influence of the clothing stiffness on stability, at least in standing and kneeling. Looks like this is true only to a certain "threshold"? Thanks for...

For a home range (I assume this is the case), how to get such lighting, what type of light source (bulbs, etc...) do you think should be used ? I have the same problem, my range is dark.

If you can contact coaches that are involved in a lot of camps, they can usually give you some options. Paul Davis is involved in many clinics and camps.

Sorry for the ignorance, but who is Paul Davis?

TRAINING CAMPS

Hi, I would like to know if someone in this forum knows about upcoming training camps in air rifle and smallbore 50 meters prone and 3 P.
Due to my job I have some time available for this in mid-September. I was planning to go to MEC's ISSS, but our schedules could not be accomodated.

I am testing H&N Finale match on my P700 alu. So far, 4.49 pellets seem to be doing better than 4.50. I am trying to test using the method described in MEC's "air rifle shooting" in which they use the scatt at 10 meters from the kneeling roll, instead of a fixture.

I also noticed occasional low shots : 2 (low nines) during prone my last training (60 shots) in addition to the misfire. I actually re-fired the latter, and ended up having a nine at 7PM I cannot account for. The execution was Ok, there was no wind or change in light. I have not formally tested this...

I then shoot it off of a bench with a scope
Sorry about the dumb question, but I have to ask: why testing again off abench with a scope, why not to directly go to test the ammo "on the shoulder" ?

My 2 cents: I have a 2013/690 wood stock anschutz in my home country (I got it new). When I moved to the US, it was easier for me to buy a new rifle than getting my old rifle here, so I got an used 1913 (wood stock) from Scott Pilkington. I have to say the 1913 does feel a little bit lighter, but I ...

I understand your point, however I have never had a misfire using Eley Macth or tenex in more than 10 years of rifle shooting. It was just odd to have that experience with Wolf, since I understand it has a good reputation. On the other hand, Wolf (even the most expensive one) has a very convenient p...

So, what is the best cleaning routine ?
I do clean after every shoot in this order: dry patch (X2), Solvent (in and out 5X with the same patch), brush (in and a couple times), clean patch (2X), oiled patch (X1) and finally one dry patch to remove the excess oil.

problems with Wolff match extra

I usually shoot Eley ammo in my Anschutz 1913, but it has been difficult to find recently. I have been shooting with Wolff match extra, which I was under the impression is good ammo. I have had two misfires already in the last 3 months, and some times I find it a little irregular compared to Eley cl...

MEC sling

OK, as someone with lots of pulse-sling problems in prone and specially in kneeling, I have been convinced to spend this huge money on a sling, and I just ordered one. I have seen so many good reviews not only in this but in other forums, that I feel compelled to give it a try... I am not understand...
