The neos has a poor trigger and the grip for me is terrible, especially shooting with one hand. I shoot a buckmark with a 7" barrel for NRA and a 5.5" for International events. Id say find a used ruger or browning with good sights and get it, itll be worth the money.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to wait on the grips as they are a big chunk of change right now and will probably see less use than a dot will. I will also let you know on the matches but if I'm in town I'll be there

Thanks for the reply but I have to stick with the buckmark for now. I've shot a HS and it pretty much seemed like a refined buckmark, a nice gun for sure.

Thanks for the reply, and that's what I was thinking. I shoot a lot of air pistol as well and feel that going with the dot would likely destroy my ability to shoot irons in the long run. Id like to find a better set of sights for the Buckmark but I may be able to adapt the stock ones or have some ma...

Where to spend money on upgrades...

I am shooting a Browning Buckmark and have decided to upgrade that for the time being until I graduate college and can afford a better gun. Currently the gun is stock except for a trigger job. My question is; where do I spend my money? Because this gun will be used for Bullseye, the choice comes dow...

The question I ask myself is, "would the Pardini, etc. be an aid in improving my score?" Which, I think, is also the point of this thread- will a firearm change help a particular shooter achieve a better score. I would certainly need to see an improvement over several matches, before I wo...

The barrel shot just as good as the old one buy the 5.5 incher is much better balanced. After doing the spring flip today, the trigger is significantly lighter but a little polishing will be needed to make it smooth.

Thanks,

Thanks for the info. I went the route of modding the buckmark because of budget concerns. Picked up a new barrel yesterday and will be working on the trigger tomorrow.

Thanks,

Thanks for the discussion.
And I'd like to keep it to about 500 bucks. I'll need to sell some things but it will be worth it. It seems so far that upgrading the buckmark is the wisest choice, but I was considering the Ruger because there is so much more support available for it.

Thanks,

Thanks for the timely replies. The advice so far is what I'm thinking as well. I've shot quite a few .22s now including a 1911 style one, several rugers, a smith and wesson, and a have handled some others. I really like the buckmarks grip and have many many rounds through my current one so I am used...

Pistol Questions...

I've come to a crossroads with my pistol shooting. I have been shooting a Browning Buckmark as it was the only .22 I had that was suitable for target work. Now that I have gotten into it (and realized that it wasn't the best gun for the task) I have some questions. I could do one of three things. 1)...

It's a IZH-46. Not much done to the grips or anything. Shooting RWS Miesterkruglens (spelling lol?)

Well I shot my match today... 535! I only had one shot high and right, and it was a 5. Focusing on the font sight helped me the most, probably because it distracted me from twitching. All I need to do now is bring those 7's in and i'll be happy.

Thanks for the insight,

Thanks for all the quick replies. I didn't get a chance to shoot today, but I'll do some dry firing leading up to my match on sunday and post the results here. Sounds like it could be a combination of things but trigger and follow through seem likely.

Thanks

Pulling shots high and right is killing my scores!

I've just recently been getting serious about shooting air pistol again and shoot in the 520s-530s, which I am satisfied with for now. However, I pull shots high and to the right, usually into the 7 or 6 ring. I am a right handed shooter so is this simply trigger squeeze? It's turning my 93s into 87...

That's what I was thinking as well. Under our assumption, my pistol would be legal by about 1/5 an inch.

My understanding is that there is a10'' barrel limit and a 10'' sight radius limit. My barrel is ok. My sights measure less than 10'' from the back of the rear sight to the back of the front sight. This seems legal to me but im not so sure. I could just slap on a dot i suppose. "3.4 .22 Caliber...

Buckmark Questions...

I'm shooting a 7.25 inch Browning Buckmark for pistol comps in my area but I was recently told that the barrel is too long for NRA Bull'seye. I believe that the rule is a 10'' barrel with 10'' sight radius is max. Is he correct or is he just confusing USAS rules with NRA rules?
