Re: Non pro shooter looking for first pro quality .22 pistol

I go back and forth between a Pardini with a dot and a few classics with iron sights (M41, HS Citation, Ruger MKII). The Pardini is the preferred competition gun, but I also really enjoy shooting the classics with iron sights (I just don't score quite as high). If you're not looking for the ultimate...

I've caught grief several times over the speed of range commands. After the command to load is given, why would I ask if the line is ready when I can clearly see that someone is still loading their gun? (revolver shooter). But I've been yelled at for this. Even after I show them the rule book (which...

This is easy, weigh the tank. Weigh an empty tank, weigh a full tank, divide the delta by the pressure (in bar), now you know the weight of the air in the tank at one bar. You can figure the volume, and even use the gas law if the tank is hotter.

Do you have the trigger set up as a very short single stage trigger? that could do it if you bumped the adjustment.

If you factor in inflation and the value of the euro since 2000, a new pardini should cost about twice what they did back then. If my research is correct, a feinwerkbau model 2 cost $1000 in 1988, that's about $2000 today. A euro was $0.85 when I got my pardini, now it's $1.30 something. I'm hoping ...

I filed down some millet rings 10 years ago for my pardini and used the factory grooves, haven't touched it since then, no problems. FYI, I tightened the bottom screw first and used blue loctite.

Cheers,
Steve.

I've seen several (including mine) double. I measured the headspace and it did look a little thin (measured 0.041"). EAA fixed mine by reaming a slight recess in the barrel, they didn't touch the bolt. Shoots great. Steve. P.S. Mine doubled worse with Federal ammo, but they all did it to some d...

I have an older SP (2001 or so), I wouldn't trade it for a new one. The new ones have more weights in the recoil absorber, but after all is said and done the overall weight and balance is not much different. I bought a few new magazines that did not fit. The dealer and the factory didn't seem too co...

I also have a Hill pump with the desiccant, and I've never had any water come out of the bleed valve. I measured the time I actually spent pumping, it's about 2.5 minutes for enough air to shoot one match + sighters. I like the pump. If you have a hard time filling the cylinders you can always just ...

I guess I am saving it for it's next owner. I just picked up a high standard citation that my dad owned many years ago, it's in about the same shape as it was back then. If the last owner turned it into a science project, I might not have it today, and my kids wouldn't get to shoot bullseye with gra...

There is one problem with a PCP gun. My son isn't heavy enough to pump up the cylinders, so I have to pump up twice as many.

But who doesn't like to pump air....

Steve.

P.S. He seems to have forgotten how to clean guns as well, but that's another issue:)

Hi John, The solution is obvious. You clearly don't need a high end air pistol, you need two. I shoot bullseye with my son (now 16), and when he wanted to shoot air I got him the same brand PCP gun that I shoot, so we could share accessories. Seriously, you should try it too, it's a lot of fun. My r...

More Feinwerkbau model 2 questions!

Thanks to Neal Stepp and the Pilkingtons, I now have a fill adapter, bleed tool, and left handed grip for my new (to me) FWB model 2. Here's the last problem: The grip I have is for an adjustable model (C20 +). It either needs: 1. The frame modified with elongated holes to adjust the grip (which I c...

I intend to, just trying to get prepared in case they aren't available anymore. They don't look like they'd be too hard to make.

Thanks,
Steve.

Thread size of FWB Model 2 tank

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know the size of the threads on a FWB Model 2 air pistol tank? I bought a used gun, but it has no adapter so I need to buy or make one.

Thanks,
Steve.

Very interesting. I broke a firing pin in my Pardini, but I had to shoot roughly the price of the gun in ammo to do it, not too bad. Given your chosen nickname, that is NOT much ammunition. ;-) Alexander Ok, I deserved that. Actually, I was shooting RWS target, went through 3 or 4 cases. I also can't seem to be able...

Hi jer, For .22's I've had very good luck with a sandbag under the trigger guard/magazine of guns like the Pardini. If I'm careful I can shoot groups with a red dot consistently in the sub 1.5" range (10 shots@50 yards) with a gun with appropriate accuracy. If I can verify that my .22 will turn...

Dumb question about recoil absorbers

I shot my friend's LP10 the other day, very interesting. Definitely less muzzle flip than my Pardini. I assume the most significant difference is the recoil absorber. The real question is: why do I really care about muzzle flip? The pellets end up in the same place. Just trying to decide for myself ...
