As per Tim and Kenny.
Clean after shooting, 1gauge rod or a bit of wooden dowel with cloth wrapped around to the appropriate diameter, and be sure to wipe the muzzle!

Re: Adult content.
Yeah, I've been on a Library system where the filtering blocked the ISSF site no less (this was a few years ago now). Being a council-run public library, it went through the same service provider and content filter as all the schools and other council facilities in the area, so it was on a "hig...

Re: Bisley range complex - UK
Thank you for the welcome additional information. Prices for electronic targets vary immensely. Intarso (formerly Häring) which we have on our range, was a fat lot cheaper than Meyton, leave alone SIUS. But I do not not know how stuffed or loaded NSRA is. Nor do I know anything about kickbacks (the...

Re: Scuba Tank Pressure Too high?
As tenmetrepeter says, it is usual to use a 232bar tank. Less commonly people will use 300bar. If you have your scuba tank at 200bar, then after the first couple of fills you'll not be able to get a good fill on your 200bar airgun cylinders (because you're starting at 200bar and dropping below immed...

Re: How to quiet 22 lr rifle, muzzle in box??
Accidents and misfires never happen? Well I wouldnt sit under the targets in our airgun range and rely on the RO to make sure they weren't pointing guns downwards. I certainly wouldn't want to be down range of lethal rifle rounds even in a vehicle. No person is allowed forward of the firing line. R...

Re: POI jumps north
How are you moving around the target? Where is your sighter? Conventional wisdom has the sighter to the left of the target and people then start top left and work clockwise across the top row, down the right hand side, and leftwards back along the bottom row finishing on the left-middle bull. Assumi...

Re: Where is the 10m Air rifle distance measured from?
If I were a rule maker, I would have it to be to the end of the rifled bbl. I mean, that's where the pellet's uncontrolled journey begins no matter what the shooter's position, or the rifle. Use some China marker and mark the bbl. tubing as to the bbl crown. If in the future if someone wants to use...

Re: 2017 ISSF Rules
NSRA (UK) totally silent so far on their site. I wouldn't read too much into that. They're silent on most subjects on the website, preferring to make announcements in the Rifleman (despite the fact it's only quarterly, there won't be one before the British Airgun Meeting, and only members get a cop...

Re: Center shot on electronic target vs NRA inner 10 on pape
Hrumph ... ??? I'm pretty sure that 10.2 defines an X in Air (not SB). On electronic targets, the system measures the distance of the centre of the projectile from the centre of the target (rather than using the edge of the hole in relation to rings). As a result, the system will round up or down f...

Re: A twist to the adding/dropping of events..from 2014
Add baseball and softball.... those had been tried before and dropped!!!! WTF!! I think you're ignoring the fact that softball is borderline the national sport in Japan. It's massive. Japan's softball team beat the USA at the 2008 Olympics. Every Games has some demonstration sports, some of which w...

"CHEERLEADING is set to become an Olympic sport. No it isn't. It has been recognised by the IOC. This is very different. There are lots of sports recognised by the IOC which do not feature at the OG. Chess is one, Bridge is another. Given that Synchronised Swimming (an exclusively female sport...

...(IDK how they will arrange things in Tokyo, in a country were weapons possession is largely forbidden)... They make exceptions and issue the necessary permits. Same as the UK did for Pistol Shooting in London. It is a condition of hosting the Games that the Government backs the bid - this usuall...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog
Aside from the shoestring budget, I'd also just point out the comparative scales and the lack of overlap between London and Glasgow. The CWG didn't have a finals hall at all - finals were shot on the Qualification Ranges, so that was one facility from London that simply wasn't needed in Glasgow. The...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog
Last I checked, the IOC doesn't provide a single penny to the coffers of shooting in any country. That as may be, it is significantly easier to get sponsorship for Olympic events than non OG events. As I'm sure you know hailing from Quebec, those of us Commonwealth Countries are waiting to see how ...

Re: Blocking branding on equipment in the Olympics?
I think that you are either creating a strawman. Seeing as the bike wasn't taped, I'll assume the taping of the firearm was because of the shooting event rules, not the team GB sponsorship deal. No, it's the team deal. there are photos of other athletes with manufacturer logos clearly visible. For ...

Re: Blocking branding on equipment in the Olympics?
Everyone knows the rules, or at least they should do if they're in business. I was questioning Hemmers calling it ludicrous that there was so much tape. Obviously any sponsor should know the business and realise the limits that will be placed on where there logos will be allowed to be displayed. Th...

Re: Make Shooting Great Again!
I figured we should start with athletes whom we have recently seen winning a World Cup, last Olympic games etc, because that's where people look first. Some athletes, like Andrija Zlatic, Yusuf Dikec, Jitu Rai and Jin Jongoh have great Wikipedia pages. Some others have very little info. I need volu...

Re: Blocking branding on equipment in the Olympics?
The other thing on top of standard IOC/ISSF rules on manufacturer logos and conflicts with official sponsors is national level deals. I am led to believe that Jen McIntosh had to cover basically everything and couldn't even have the 1-logo per garment because TeamGB's deal with Adidas stipulated no ...

Re: Last Olympics for Free Pistol?
Has anybody else heard this? If so, so much for those who think the IOC will add more shooting sports. I'm pretty sure no one thinks the IOC are going to add more shooting medals! There are 15 shooting events, of which 9 are men's events and 6 are women's. For each of Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun ther...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
Well if it IOC weren't so driven by money, power, and lunacy maybe all of us would be better off...and not just the shooting athletes. Remember when the Games were about the athletes and the spirit of International competition with some very heated international rivalries (think USA vs. USSR), but ...
